Note: No idea what is going on with 'Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men'. There are 26 Issue deletions. There is a large gap with Issue 7 through 11 (and there various HC and Variants).

Here is the list of deletions. Good luck figuring out what goes where and why the deletions.

Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 1/B
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 1/C
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 2/A-2
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 2/C
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 2/HC-2
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 3
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 3/A-2
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 3/B
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 3/HC-2
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 4
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 4/B
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 5
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 5/B
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 6
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 6/A
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 6/B
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 7/A
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 7/HC
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 8/A
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 8/HC
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 9/A
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 9/HC
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 10/A
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 10/HC
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 11/A
Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men 11/HC

For now, ignore the Marvel Masterworks: The Uncanny X-Men info. It seems to be isolated to me.

  2. I am sure it can be entered. The question is what Type and and How to enter them.
For Type, it is definitely not Comic Books. That leaves Books or Magazines.

Here is a link that lists 33 of the books from MayFair Games:
    https://www.nobleknight.com/Products/DC-Heroes---Core-and-Sourcebooks-Mayfair-Games

Once the Type is determined, then should it be one Titles or individual Titles. And, if one Title what would it be called?

Also, what is the Item #? There IS a number associated with the books. (Depends on Type and One Title/Multiple Titles)

For example 'Who's Who in the DC Universe has a Manufactory number 0f MFB2601992. It was printed in 1992, so it could be 260
If Books and 1 Title, Item Number could be TPB 260.
If Books and Multiple Titles, then just TPB
If Magazines, Item Number could be 260.

Or some other set of values. The above are just suggestions to the editors.

  3. You might consider getting the most recent build (it can't hurt).

You can do this two ways.

Set Up->Preferences and check the box next to 'Check for Interim Updates'. Then use Internet->Check For Updates.

    or

Go to CB website and use My Account->Registrations, click the green down-arrow next to your active subscription, then download the install. Run the install after downloading (with CB closed).

If you still can select anything in the selection area, you will probably have to contact support@comicbase.com to see why you can't select anything.

  4. A) What Edition / Version of CB do you have (Help->About will supply this information)?

    B) What steps are you taking?

In my Archive Edition v25.6.3.3797, I select Report->Divider Labels.

At the top is a 'Series to Print' box with three options:

    Current Series

    Series I Own

    Selected Series

Either click on the radio button for Current Series (single title currently displayed) or Selected Series (Choose... button appears that allows selecting multiple series (either Shift+Click to select a range or Ctrl+Shift to select non-consecutive titles).

Optionally change Tab Height and/or check Print Labels on both sides and/or List only Titles in Stock.

    Check and change Label information.

At this point I use Preview to see what would print and I get just the titles I selected (either current Series or Selected Series since you don't want all the series you own).

  5. There appears to be two versions of the Miguel Mercado ASM 300 variant from Unknown Comics: one with trade dress and one virgin.
    On eBay, I found:

Trade Dress ASM 300 homage cover: UPC 75960620085600241
Virgin            ASM 300 homage cover: UPC 75960620085600251

    With the first 3 (#2 00211, #2/A 00221, and #2B 00231) that makes 5 total.

If you want a gap in variations, I would Delete 2/C (renaming the cover to 2/D.
If you do not want a gap, I would delete 2/C and change 2/D to 2/C, 2/E to 2/D.

  6. So when you say they were changed back, that is from what you changed it to back to the way the master database has them.

The way the punctuation is in the master database is the controlling information.

For better or worse, Apostrophes and Ellipse are the way the official Titles have been named.

If you change them in your database and have 'Automatically match unknown items checked in the Update option window), they will be changed back. (If you don't have it checked, the title you changed that doesn't match the master database will still be deleted unless you own issues in that title. In that case, all the issues except the ones you own will be deleted.)

You can continue to change it back the way you want and submit it, but it won't change the Titles in the master database.

  7. If it helps, here is an Advanced Find that will list all the Titles/Issues that you own with an Ellipsis and/or Apostrophe.

    I.QtyInStock >= 1 AND (I.Title LIKE '%’%' OR I.Title LIKE '%…%')

If you just want a list of the Titles, you could copy them into a spreadsheet and remove duplicates.

    OR

A regular Find with Series Field 'Title' CONTAINS '…' or '’' and select 'Titles in my collection at the bottom. (need to run twice: once for ellipsis and apostrophe).

  8. I am also not aware about any change to the title names:

    World's Finest comics

    What If…? (Vol. 1)

The only thing is the curved apostrophe instead of the straight 'tick' mark and the single character ellipsis (…) instead of the three consecutive periods.

But neither these interfere with searching form them.

As for file names (where the pictures are stored, the change from three periods to single ellipsis would change the name (from What If...- to What If--).

However the tick mark to apostrophe would not change the file name.

  9.  Okay. That means something weird is going on (as you already know...). I have actually come across a similar situation with Acts of Vengeance Omnibus 1/A.

AA have it with a cover. My database does not with the Picture Fields NULL(as opposed to 0 which occurs when an existing cover scan is deleted).

I attempt to download the cover and, like you, get the 'No new or larger covers...' message.

So, either the Cover scan does not exist in the Master Database but does on Atomic Avenue (I thought it used the same Master Database, but...) or there is something in the process that is not doing the comparisons for determining 'New/Larger' covers properly.

The strange thing is it DOES work for some covers but not others.

  10. Here is a suggestion to do a little testing.

Use File->New Database to create a new Database (do not copy anything over). Name it anything you like (Test, Delete, Junk, whatever).

If not already open, open the New Database.

Use File->File Tools and click on 'Manage Pictures and Movies'.

Change the location of the Pictures and Logs to an empty folder.

(Note: This will clear all Picture information in the database (width, Height, size, etc. which is why this is being done to a New Database. It won't affect you real database. You could do this with your real database but would have to run a Rebuild List for Picture info which can take a couple of hours).

At this point you New Database should have No covers showing and no Picture information.

    Now, try downloading some covers.

    A) They will download successfully

    or

    B) They won't download.

If A, you can check the picture's specifications (either showing those columns in CB or going to the folder and running Properties / Details.

If B, there is something wrong with your database or computer (mostly the database).

PS, While still in the New Database, use 'Manage Pictures and Movies' to set the location of the Pictures and Logs back to the original location (if it the default, clicking on Reset will do this).

  12. If nothing else, you can create your own custom grade (menu item Setup->Grading...).

Click the Green + to add a Grade.

Give it a name and abbreviation (don't using an existing Grade name/abbreviation).

Set a % of NM value (normal, mid, and high). No clue what the values should be. You can look at existing grades and make a guess.

PS The master database that HC maintains won't know about this issue and no updates will be applied.

  13. That would make it 'Captain America Comics' #1.

If it is a 'slabbed' book, you can set the Condition to CGC Restored, CBCS Restored, or PGX Restored.

If it is not 'slabbed', CB doesn't have a standard grade for restored books.

According to CGC's standard grading guide, a 7.0 is FN/ VF. I have no idea how a restored issue would change this.

  14. Uh, Issue number? Cover (or link to cover), Cover date (or from the indicia)?

Need something to go on here.

If you are asking is specific Restored issues are in the database, not normally, but you can add it. Is the a 'slabbed' restored issues. CB has Conditions for the various agencies with Restored as an option.
