(other than the typo of 'Live' instead of 'Life' in one of the titles I have already informed Mark about). When I first looked, there were two titles. One in Comic Books ('Genius, Isolated: The Life and Art of Alex Toth' with 1 issue) and one in Books ('Genius Isolated: The Life & Art of Alex Toth; with 3 issues). I asked HC how they wanted to handle this and it was decided to have individual Titles. They all have different enough names to justify ('Genius, Isolated...', 'Genius, Illustrated...', Genius, Animated...', and 'Genius, Collected' (which is a slip-case set of all 3 books)). That is how I entered them then used Overall Title Name to 'link' them together. (By the way, these are books about Alex Toth and not reprints of specific issues (although there are some of them included, also)). PS I am typing this 'long' explanation for those who don't have access to Slack.

Removing everything sounds like the way to go.

You mention you cleaned up saved information, but I wonder if you got it all. There are two places to check on the CB website. One is My Account->My Comics should show the saved reports. The other is My Account->Profile where the Known Databases are listed. (you may have to scroll down a bit to see them. When you created the 2023 database, it may have gotten a new unique database id (you can find yours with Collection Statistics. then click on the database info icon in the top right corner). There may be a mis-match causing CB to be confused which one to display.

If you can do a Find for Street Date between x and Y for only items in stock, you can select all the Cost cells, CTRL+C to copy, paste into Spreadsheet, do the math, copy the change price, click on the first cell in the Result Grid for Cost, then CTRL+V to Paste the new value. As long as you don't change the order of the result grid, every thing will paste to the correct issue. (just do a backup first, just in case....)

Mass Change will affect all comics in the database. As a modification of you Brute force method, if you can do a Find for the issues you want to change to .7, you can copy the results from the grid (you just need Cover Price I think, paste it to a spreadsheet, do the 'math' the copy all of the new values from the spread sheet and past them into the Cost column (just DO close the Find result grid so they are in the same order).

I am guessing you only have the Express edition. I believe, Export is only available in Pro and Archive editions. What you are suggesting should work but here are some suggestions. 1) At a minimum, you need Title, Item #, Condition and Qty. 2) if you need more columns, you can use Setup->Columns ti View and move the columns you want until they are next to each other (so you don't have to delete the columns you don't want). 3) If you don't want to do number 2, Paste into a spreadsheet to make it easy to delete columns you don't want. 4a) If you don't need to use a Spreadsheet to delete columns, just paste the data from CB into a text file (i.e. Notepad or the like). The data will be TAB delimited which is what you want. 4b) If you do use a Spreadsheet, don't use 'Save As' Instead, just copy / paste into the text file (this removes the use of " to define text with spaces (which can cause problems). 5) Add the column names as the first line (TAB delimited). Do NOT try to line this up to be over the data if you are doing this in a text file. If you are using a spreadsheet, it is easier to get them where you want. The common names for use are: Title Item # Condition Qty In Stock Cost Custom Check 1 Custom Check 2 Custom Check 3 Custom Date 1 Custom Date 2 Custom Field 1 Custom Field 2 Custom Field 3 Custom Field 4 For Sale Grading Notes Notes (If you have renamed the Custom Fields, you can use the name you gave it in CB) 6) you will have to do this for Comic Books, Books, Magazines and Newspapers as separate Imports (you can combine all the copy/paste data for each Type to do just one Import per Type. 7) I don't know if you plan to use one of the existing databases as the combined repository or if you are creating a new database (which I would recommend in case 'something' goes wrong). Just make sure all databases have been updated to the same Update. This way any added/deleted titles/issues will be in place. 8 ) After the Import, look for any Publisher with a name of 'Unknown Publisher'. These are Titles CB could not find to add the import data to.

Yes, I have also noticed the software can introduce duplicate rows in some unknown fashion. It did this with the old database engine and seems to be occurring with the new database also. With the old system (back when Group By was a working part of the Advanced Find, I found and deleted them. As I recall (with may rapidly aging memory) they were issues I didn't own. With CB 2xxx, I have found a way to find duplicates with Advanced Find and deleted the ones I found. Since, then, I haven't found any more duplicates but, not knowing what causes them, I don't know if or when they will return.

Steve is fine. This may be a 'feature' of the database program (SQLite) handling the result set in the background and not a specific programming process 'filtering' out the changed row when it no longer qualifies for the Where clause. I am leaning towards filtering because if the Find was run again, it should( ? ) update the row count.

It appears you have some duplicate entries in your database. If you have Advanced Find in your Edition of CB, you can paste this: I.Title || I.ItemNumber IN ( (SELECT A.Title || A.ItemNumber FROM ComicIssues A WHERE I.Title = A.Title and I.ItemNumber = A.ItemNumber GROUP BY A.Title, A.ItemNumber HAVING COUNT(*) > 1 ) ) in the Where box and it will find any issues that have the same Title/IssueNumber. (if needed it can be modified to add Condition if you have duplicate issues with different Conditions.)

In my database and on Atomic Avenue "Doom's IV" #0.5 is only there once.

You can find them in 'Justice League of America' as Bk 1/HC and Bk 2/HC (along with BK 3/HC).

Actually, it either runs the Find again or at it filters out rows that were changed so they no longer qualify for the Where clause. Ran Advanced Find with I.Storylines LIKE "%'%" Search Results 97 Rows, Actual rows in Grid is 97. Double-clicked on a row to bring up the edit window. Changed the straight 'tick' to the curved 'apostrophe' and saved. After the 'wheels stop spinning', Search Results 97 Rows, Actual rows in Grid is 96. Either it ran the Find again or it Filtered out the changed row since it no longer qualified without the 'tick' mark. Note: If you edit in the Grid instead of the Edit window, the row is not filtered out.

I believe what you are experiencing is a side effect of Psychic Typing where it tries to figure out what you are doing. I will let Pete address whether this is fixable or not. Until then, to get around these problems, you can paste (CTRL+V) the values you want to add or select/high-light what you want to replace before pasting in the correction.

With the Optimize on exit set to >10%, I am able to exit CB without Optimize running.

Ah, I thought you were referring to Rebuild Lists (which repopulates instead of rebuilding the indexes) since this 'hidden' process isn't widely known.

Not sure if this will help, but it can't hurt... Close CB. Press and Hold CTRL while Opening CB. You will get a dialog box asking 'Recreate the database indexes?...' Click YES.

I added a cover named Bk 1-DLX.jpg and it showed. Up. If that is the name you are using, try either scrolling Up or down to so it has to refresh or leave the title and come back. If you are using the right name and a screen refresh still does not show it, then you have a problem.

If it helps, mine does the same. I set optimize on exit >10% and it also always runs Optimize database when I exit. As Fred mentioned, I can just open the database and immediately close it and it still runs. I have exited using both clicking on the X and using the Menu item to exit with the same results.
