If you haven't already, try downloading the most current update to the program. Per the CB live-stream, Pete in increased the Printing from 500 to (I think) 10,000. That should fix your access problem. Hopefully the covers ill then be displayed (and if they do, I would 'Show Picture File' and see where they actually were.

First, I have not used any of these and don't print labels. So this is just information. Looking at the Label Report in CB, it has 5 Avery labels listed to select from. They are, along with Number of Labels per sheet and size, are: Label Labels/Sheet Size Avery 5160/5260 30 1" x 2 5/8" Avery 5161/5261 20 1" x 4" Avery 5162/5262 14 1 1/3" x 4" Avery 5163/5263 10 2" x 4" Avery 5164/5264 6 3 1/3" x 4" I would think any of these would work. The info on the Avery website indicates 'optimized for laser printers' but I think they should work in a inkjet printer.

Normally CB will NEVER delete any cover scans (it may, in certain situations overwrite one). If it did, this would be highly unusual as there shouldn't even be code in the program to do it.

You are correct. Need Advanced Find but it isn't something you can select. You have to type it in yourself. One more slightly off topic comment. When deciding on which Edition of CB to get, the Pro Edition indicates it has 50,000 covers. But what surprises some people is that is spread over 60,000+ Titles. This ends up with 1 (maybe 2) cover per most (but not all) Titles. You can add you own cover scans but most issues do not have covers. For that you would need the Archive Edition (or the 4K Archive Edition).

With Advance Find, yes. However... Not all Item #s have a Cover date. Annuals are hit and miss and most Books (especially modern ones) don't. So you may not get a complete list. NOTE: I have Custom Fields available and have set up one of the Custom Dates to be Publication Date so I could enter a date for all these problem Item #s. It uses an unsupported 'feature' called ComicTitles.Publisher. You can't select this from the Fields list as it isn't in the Issues Table. I included QtyInStock to just return Item #s that you own. If you want all, you can remove it. The date needs to be entered in ISO format (YYYY-MM-MM) and all values need to be used (i.e. 01 instead of just 1). For a Single Cover Date: I.QtyInStock >= 1 AND ComicTitles.Publisher = 'Marvel' AND I.CoverDate = '2021-01-01' For a Range of Cover Dates: I.QtyInStock >= 1 AND ComicTitles.Publisher = 'Marvel' AND I.Cover Date BETWEEN '2020-01-01' AND '2020-12-31' AND ComicTitles.Publisher = 'Marvel' Once you get the Find result, select everything (CTRL+A), then Right-click and from the pop-up menu select either Quick Reports or Report Select Titles As (then one of the Report types).

If you have it, to get to Advanced Find, start a Search (CTRL+F, or click on the magnifying glass in the top center of the window or use Items->Find... In the Find drop-down box, when you click it, Advanced Find should be at the bottom. See Attached. If it doesn't show up, then you don't have the correct Edition to use it (I think only Pro and Archive have it).

A Douglas mentioned, the only thing you have to do to indicate 'ownership' is change Qty (Quantity in Stock) to 1 (or more if you have multiple copies). You can do this in the grid without opening anything. Just double-click the cell and type a 1. At that point, the Item # will be high-lighted to make it easier to see what you have. For a little more advanced process, for a single Title, you can select multiple Item #s at one time (using the standard Windows keys of Shift for consecutive rows or CTRL for non-consecutive rows) while pressing/holding the left mouse button. Once the are all high-lighted, Right-click and select Quick Change form the pop-up menu. The the window what appears, select Qty In Stock and set the To: value to 1. After clicking Make Changes, all the selected Item #s will be set to 1 (or whatever value you entered. Also, if you have or want to get a Barcode scanner (and you are entering comics from late 1970's to now), you can use the Items->Add By Barcode. This will allow you to scan many comics at one time and have them entered into CB. (you can type in the barcode if you don't have a scanner but that is a little bit of work). I am not sure if Custom Fields are in the Free Edition. If the are, that is great but the are only in the Pro / Archive Editions. The are NOT in the Express Edition.

I am by no means an expert, but I think the value of a signed cover is whatever someone will pay for it. I don't think there is any kind of system where Creator A is worth x% more while Creator B is worth Y% more. If you are a seller, you will just have to make your best guess (and it looks like you have thought about this), set a price and see if it sells. If you are a buyer, you have to determine if what is being asked is something you are willing to pay. Then there are the people (like me) who consider any writing on the cover a down-grade and would only pay less because of it. There is no easy answer and that is probably one of the reason CB doesn't have any signed issues (other than with a COA).

First, the images are (probably) NOT deleted. It is just having a problem matching the cover image number with the now non-valid Item # (due to printing high value limit). Or possibly your Picture file location got changed. Go to the Secret City title, then Right click on the large cover scan area (top left corner) and select Show Picture File. See if the cover is there but just doesn't have a matching Item # in CB. You can also see the location of the Picture folder to see if it is where you expected. You can also check a Title with a (now) out of range Printing to see if the covers are still there. Second, current, the highest value for Printing appears to be 500 (I tired to enter a Printing of 1023 and the system 'defaulted' it back to 500). I would contact support and see if this was a mistake and will be fixed or if was a decision that can be changed. If either of those happens you database and cover images should be fine without doing anything. Then Change all the Item # Printings to something between the 1-500 range. NOTE: You will also have to rename each and every cover image with out of range Printing values to match what you changed them to. This is true for any of the methods I mention below. However, if HC doesn't fix this, you have a few possibilities (none of them are easy and will take time and effort (especially time)). One, do you have an older copy of CB that can be installed (prior to the Printing being max value being changed). If you do, I would A) Make a backup copy of your database (just in case), then B) install the older version of CB. At that point, you should be able to open/work with the large Printing values. Two, If you can Export / Import data, I would Export your data, open it in a Spreadsheet (you could use a Notes or something but that is a little more difficult). In the Spreadsheet, change all the Item # Printing values to something withing the 1-500 range that seems to be the current limit. Once done, I would open CB, Create aa New Database, run the most current Update, and then Import your corrected data. Three (and this is an even longer process), Create a new Item # for each of the out of range Printings and set it to something between the 1-500 range. Once you have the new Item #, copy/paste any information you entered from the 'bad' one to the new one (Notes, Custom Fields, etc.). When done, delete the 'bad' Item #. Repeat this process for every out of range Item #. Hopefully, this is something that HC can fix so you won't have to do any of the above. PS There were changes made for Variations with the latest update. This may have accidentally impacted Printings so hopefully, it is an error that can be fixed without you having to make changes.

Timothy. You don't delete the Title directly (unfortunately). Instead, just delete all the Item #s (issues) and the Title will automatically be deleted. You can do this by going to the Title (in Magazines), use CTRL+A to select all the Item #'s, then Right-click the mouse and select Delete from the pop-up menu. Technically, you just need to delete the potential duplicate Item #s, so if you only have 1 or 2, it might be easier to just delete the couple of Item #'s. But if you have a lot (or a lot on non-consecutive ones), deleting all is probably easier.

Books are different. The Comic Title Elementals (Vol. 1 was already created. For these books you would have to 'make up' some Title to place them under. Then what do you do for Item #. Can't really use 1, 2, 3. Even Year may not work as multiple books could come out in one year. Here is Pete's actual reply to my question:

What you ask is a little different then what I asked. My question was: For a set of books that are meant to be read in sequence (to make the most sense) but, could be read by itself, should they be listed under one Title (to keep them all together) or separately (NOTE: The are NOT numbered)? The answer was to list each of them under their own Title. To try to apply this to what you have... Looking at the covers on Amazon, the first nine are the list do not have any number on the cover (I can't see the spine). The others DO have numbers on them. My guess is you would create 9 separate Titles for the first 9 non-numbered books. Not sure about the Titles. could be either 'Star Trek, the Next Generation: Descent' or just 'Descent' (I would lean towards the StNG:Decent one and just change Descent to the other names) Then create 1 Title, with a possible name of 'Star Trek: The Next Generation (Pocket)', and list all the others (currently, Amazon has it as 65 books) as part of a numbered series.

Yes. I only had one cover downloaded (and it was preliminary art, at that (even though I have it checked NOT to download them but this is an on-going problem...)). I think, for the most part, what I listed is mostly correct as I go off the Titles Updated and Deleted. Updated Titles didn't have any Publisher changes and all the deleted ones didn't have any covers (and since they were being deleted, really shouldn't have had any covers downloaded for them). However, in weeks going forward, those missing covers may lead me to miss something. Since I have two database, I am going to wait a few days to see if the cover problem can be fixed. If it is, I will update this second database and download covers at that point (they share the same picture folder).

After Importing data, if a publisher is listed as 'Unknown Publisher', that means that CB could not find a matching Title to add the issues to. What you need to do is get a list of the Titles (do a Find where Publisher is "Unknown Publisher'. Use the list and try to match up with Titles already in CB (they are most likely there but it is possible to have something not yet in CB). Note: Some of the Titles in Comic Books might have been moved to Books or Magazines. If the Title the same and it is in a different Media, use Edit->Change Title Media Type to move it to the correct media. If the Titles is the same Media, you can select any/all issues in the incorrect Title and use Edit->Transfer Issues to a Different Title...

There are a couple of Options. But you will need to know where to move the 'Unknown Publisher' Titles/Issues to. Step one is to list all the 'Unknown Publisher Titles. You can This with a Find where Publisher is 'Unknown Publisher'. When the lists is displayed, you can hi-light the list (you really just need the Title but Publisher and Years Published won't hurt). CTRL+A will select everything. Then you can Copy and Paste into your Spreadsheet. Step Two would be to Identify All these Titles with ones that CB uses. This can either be easy or difficult depending on what you have. Once you have this cross-reference list, you can use Edit->Transfer Items to a Different Title. Go to the First Title from the list of Unknown Publisher. Hi-light just the Issues you want to transfer (or select all of them), then use the Transfer option. You will get a Titles window to the Title you want to move them to. Repeat this process for all the Unknown Publishers. One more thing. Some of the Titles you imported may not be in Comic Books. They may be in the Books or Magazine section. If this is the case, You can use Edit->Change Title Media Type.

What Edition of CB do you have? (Free, Express, Pro, or Archive)? You need at least Professional to Export/Import data. Express may let you do one of these (but not both, I think) but I can't find any info on the CB website. If you do have them, they should be under menu item File->Import or File->Export.

Can you supply a screen print of the collection report options for the one that only has a few being shown? Ii am mostly interested in what is shown in Red in the attachment.

So, you are saying, on you computer, one Report sohws them but one doesn't? Have you gone to the actual Titles and seen if they are entered correctly there? (should have Qty of 1)? If all the items are actually in the database, then the problem could just be with the report. If the items are not in the database, then that is a different problem. Assuming the items are actually in the database, you can try running File->File Tools Rebuilds lists (you might as well select all but the Pictures File List). After that run Optimize Database (same location).

Where are the 135 located? Have they been entered into the database? Or scanned in with your phone?
