Fred Slota Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 Don't think I saw it mentioned. Cloud Sync not working. I had closed the program, and what I believe was the automatic backup was at first hanging, not progressing, don't know what the status message was, didn't pay attention. It was just stuck on an animating progress bar (Which, since it doesn't actually show progress, I probably shouldn't call it that). Canceled and manually initiated a backup. It went into a cycle of optimizing, Preparing, rinse and repeat. Rebooted and felt happy, I at first thought it worked, as it didn't get stuck, and didn't repeat over and over. But... Optimizing... Preparing backup (0%), then 59%, 72%, 84%, 96%, 100% But then a little red message at the top saying "Error sending data." and the Sync status telling me the last backup was still 1/1/2020. Currently running version 20.0.1.2836. The Current version page states that the current version is 20.0.1.2724, and the change log does not mention any cloud sync corrections. The download page says I'll be be downloading 20.0.1.2874. I'll install, reboot, and try again and post an update.
Fred Slota Posted January 8, 2020 Author Posted January 8, 2020 Running 20.0.1.2874 now... Manually started Optimizing,,, Preparing backup (0%), then 44%, 59%, 72%, 84%, 96%, 100% Backing up twiddle, twiddle, twiddle, probably been 2 minutes, didn't check at first... 5:31 pm... 5:36 pm, still thinks it's running. Guess it's still not working.
Fred Slota Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 I wake up this morning and Cloud save is still attempting to process.
Doug MedicAR Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I'm having a similar problem with Sidekick. I begins with the arrow in the circle, makes it about 75% around and freezes. Nothing else happens until I get the message that the program is not responding and I shut it down. I've done this three times now, same each time.
Mark J. Castaneda Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 try downloading/installing the revised CB2020 program installer (20.0.1.2878) from your online account here: https://www.comicbase.com/mycb/Registrations.aspx Restart your computer and then open up Sidekick. Double-check you Sidekick settings just in case like the databases listed under the General Tab are correct. If everything looks good, try out backing up to the cloud. NOTE: we are currently doing server maintenance this week which may delay stats, reports, and backups from appearing under user profiles; it may take a bit more time to process them than usual.
Fred Slota Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 (edited) 20.0.1.2878 failed to install. I'll put this in a separate topic. Edit. I think I'm an idiot. Give me a few minutes. Edited January 16, 2020 by Fred Slota
Fred Slota Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 I keep a backup copy of my installers on a removable drive. Forgot that I was running the installer from off the removable drive, and removed it mid-process. Duh. We'll see how everything goes after a reboot.
Fred Slota Posted January 16, 2020 Author Posted January 16, 2020 Optimizing. Preparing backup 0%, 59%, 84%, 100% Backing up... 12:49 twiddle, twiddle, twiddle 12:58. Yeah, no. I still don't think it's working.
Mark J. Castaneda Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 At the moment the maintenance we're doing (that i mentioned in my last reply) is taking longer than anticipated; it may take a few more days, evening stretching out through this weekend. This will effect updating user stats, reports, and backups. Apologizes for the inconvenience.
Fred Slota Posted January 22, 2020 Author Posted January 22, 2020 How will we know when the maintenance is finished? Is it already finished?
Mark J. Castaneda Posted January 23, 2020 Posted January 23, 2020 The server upgrade is done at this point. We're doing extra tweaking on the backend to make sure things are working properly which may stretch to the very end of the week.
