Travis L. Ledden
Weird issue I just started having. When I click on a line in the grid of a title that has a thumbnail I get an error about downloading the picture. When I click ok I get this message After clicking a few different lines in a couple of different titles I opened the picture folder and all the pictures that I had click on the picture file showed as 0 bytes and could not be opened. After a little more testing I figured out that I could open the pictures in another program but as soon as I click on the line in Comicbase the file for the picture would go to 0 bytes and I would no longer be able to open it. Gambit(5th Series) Things I have tried: 1. Restarted the program 2. Restarted the computer 3. Check to make sure Windows was not blocking 4. Check and updated to the latest version (23.0.0.2003) 5. Clicked on full grid and downloaded all the covers(It downloaded 2 of the covers, but they went back to 0bytes when I clicked on the line. 2nd time trying to download all the covers it gave me the same download error) 6. Last thing i tried was deleting all the files in the folder and redownloading them all. Out of about 40 covers it should have downloaded it created 3 files that had 0 bytes and got stuck at 90% of Checking for covers.
adrian hunter
yes, all that is happening to me too! no connectivity issues other wise, for any other apps.
Steven L. Dasinger
I just tried to download the Gambit (5th Series) #15.jpg cover and it completed successfully using CB Archive 4k Edition b2003. Try again. If it works, there may have been some server issues earlier. If it still doesn't work, I would send an email to support.
Travis L. Ledden
As Steven suggested I tried again and am no longer getting the error and pictures are not getting deleted or corrupted. Thanks,

Steven L. Dasinger
I believe HC is doing some server upgrades and this may be causing intermittent outages.
Mark J. Castaneda
Download the revised CB 2023 program installer (v23.0.0.2022) from your online account here: https://www.comicbase.com/mycb/Registrations.aspx If the problem still occurs, please give our lead programmer Pete a call at 408-266-6883 ext 403. The problem could be specific to a computer setup we may not be aware of.
Lyle Brown
I'm also having the exact same issue tonight trying to update my database. Running Archive Edition on a Windows 11 machine. I downloaded the revised CB 2023 program installer per Mark, but still the issue persists. I had to go to task manager to end ComicBase. I'll be calling Pete in the AM. Lyle Brown
I just tried to use Sidekick to update my database content. It was working fine adding issues, updating issues, removing obsolete issues, etc. But when trying to download the cover pictures I received the same error....."Had trouble downloading the picture......." Mark J. Castaneda
does it matter what cover you're downloading OR its specific to certain issues? Can you provide a few example covers giving you problems, we'll try to replicate on our end.
Lyle Brown
Hi Mark, It's actually the first cover in the download, after the error I click OK and then it's the next cover with the error and so on, the only way to end ComicBase is to use task manager as it tries to download every cover during the download. Thanks.
Lyle Brown
The first 3 covers that I received an error on...Adventures of Mom and Sons, The\Ash 1-A, then Algorithmic Reality\1 and finally Alice Ever After\Bk 1...
Lyle Brown
Terminated ComicBase, restarted and tried to download manually the above 3 covers, still receiving the same error.
Lyle Brown
Talked with Pete, he had me go to File/File Tools/Manage Pictures and Movies and reset and remove all of the cover photos. I then downloaded all covers for Uncle Scrooge (IDW) and they all downloaded fine. I then attempted to download the newest update and all went perfectly, no issues loading the new covers. Update ran and completed as usual. Thanks Pete.
