November 7, 2025Nov 7 does anyone know of a good resource for research? i have a few titles not in the db and cannot find them most other places. currently i am looking at my original marvel masterworks v 1, 2, 3, but cannot find a way to determine which version they are 1st printing i think. also i am seeing these on Mile High for $400 but the listing here is $75 then i have Seduction of the innocent 3d i cannot find here. i may have to create a new listing i think, but need more info to flush out the entry. marvel comics has a nice db of their titles, but the masterworks are not coming up for some reason. superthanks!
November 8, 2025Nov 8 For Marvel Masterworks you might try this sight site: http://marvelmasterworks.com/ Seduction of the Innocent 3-D https://atomicavenue.com/atomic/series/78/1/Seduction-of-the-Innocent-Eclipse can be found here: (both 3D 1 and 3D 2) My Comic Shop lists 3D 1 here with some prices for consignment sales: https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=433751
November 8, 2025Nov 8 The Marvel Masterworks can be complicated b/c of all of the various printings, re-printings, multiple editions using improved sources for the artwork, etc. What "original Masterworks" do you have? I assume that these have the "marble dustjacket" rather than the "silver and black" dustjacket. Assuming that this is the case, what is the color of the book board under the dustjacket? Is it plain black or does it have some other color? As for market prices for the early volumes, prices vary a lot especially since several of these were recently re-done using improved sources and new "extras" were added to the back pages. I think that many people would tell you that the valuations listed on Mile High's site are unrealistically high, they should probably be chopped down by 50% at least. On the other hand, a lot of the valuations in ComicBase are based on Atomic Avenue transactions but those valuations can be iffy if there haven't been a lot of transactions for a particular issue. I suspect that may be the case for many of the Marvel Masterworks volumes.
