  1. I'm a big fan of identification (barcode) labels for organization.

Would love to see cover artist added to the label, in addition to the existing writer (script) and artist (art) credits.

Especially in this era of variant covers where the cover artwork is not done by the same creator as the interior art.

    Thanks for your consideration.

  2. Probably the best tip I've gotten from watching one of Pete's livestreams... printing identification labels (barcode labels) for each of my comics.  I've slowly been going through my entire collection and adding them to the back of the board so I can tell what comic I'm looking at no matter which direction it's facing.

When it works, it works well... like so:

Unfortunately, if the issue title is too long for the label it gets truncated, and then the issue number disappears!

The "human" organizer has no clue which issue is which and likes to see printed issue numbers on the labels for quick and easy identification... even if the title of the book is truncated.

    I'm using Avery 5161 labels.

My two cents... I can envision two possible solutions for the comicbase programmers that be... (Pete?)

    • give the issue number it's own protected field somewhere on the label, so even if the issue title is too long and gets truncated, there will always be a dedicated space for the issue number (similar to the issue grade in the bottom right corner).
    • automatically resize the font so the entire issue title plus issue number always fits in the available space

    Please advise.

    Thanks,
    Sam

  3. When I submit data to ComicBase 2023, I get a progress bar while the data from each issue I submitted is being uploaded to the server.

    image.png.c447c7615b2b39b0ad6da6a792d50cf7.png

After that is complete, I get a pop-up that says "Thanks..."

    image.png.bd8eb7bf161ec4c46257e05d3ccc0e05.png'

Then, if my comic cover scans are newer or larger, it asks me if I want to send those too.

    image.png.9aafedef1f3f2dddfe3cf59dfd7c0a83.png

    I click Yes.

    Then... nothing

No progress bar displaying the status of the uploads.

No indication which scan or scans it is attempting to upload.

No confirmation pop-up saying thanks, saying that the sending of the scans was successful, saying that they will be reviewed.

I don't even know if it did anything at all!  I don't know if it tried, if it failed, if it was successful.  Nothing.

If I resubmit the same issue data, deja vu... it repeats the same steps all over again... progress bar during upload of issue data, "Thanks..." when issue data is complete, followed by asking "You also have scans...." and then... nothing.

Please consider adding positive confirmation during the cover scan submission process so that we can be assured our data is being submitted timely and successfully.

    We want to contribute 🙂

    Thanks,
    Sam

    What should I see?
