I own a few of these.
The number on the shrink wrap sticker is the issue number. The number on the spine of the book is the volume number.
The indicia inside the book simply lists the comics that are being re-printed.

I am wanting to sort this title out. At the moment a lot of them are missing, however before I start I would like some guidance on the numbering.
The 1st issue released i.e. issue one was the Amazing Spider-Man Coming Home - however this is volume 21 (when you put them in volume order on the shelf the spines form a picture)
The 2nd issue was the Uncanny X-Men, and this was volume 2.
Issue 3 was Iron man Extremis, but this was volume 43.
And so it continues.
Do you want the numbering to be based on issue i.e. the order they were released or by volume i.e. the order they are put in on the bookshelf to form the spine picture?

That worked , many thanks. I will now finish correcting the covers.

Got to this title which was a much loved British comic that I used to read.
A lot of the covers are duplicates, or attached to the wrong issue number or date. I have tidied up issues 1-175 but some of the correct covers won't upload because they are smaller, thus leaving some incorrect covers. If the covers of these issues could be deleted in the next update -I could then submit all the correct covers.
My main issue is that having got to issue 176, the date of this issue should be 23/2/1980 not 29/2/1980.
Issue 177 should be 29/2/1980, 178 should be 1/3/1980 etc etc, Is there a fast way of correcting the dates of issues 176-860, or is the only way the laborious one at a time?
I will pause indexing/correcting this title for now. Until I hear from you.
There is however a lot of correcting still to be done.

"Rose & Gunn" and "Rose N Gunn" are the same title Rose N Gunn needs deleting.

I would like the facility so that as with submitting a correction I could submit a comment about an issue.
The editors could then look at the comment and act or not as the case may be.
For example when a comic issue has a "my comics store" watermark.
Or where I have a none water marked cover that is smaller than the water marked cover (prelimary/my comic shop etc), the watermarked cover needs removing.
The idea being that these covers can be removed in the next update, so the better cover can be submited.
Also I come across issues which either don't exist or where never published - I would comment on these issues such that the editors could remove them.
Comments on the value of issues could also be done this way
Also other comments could be made i.e. poor quality cover -which then could be flagged/highlighted (may be by highlighing the issue in a different colour) in updates for users so if they come across a better cover they can submit it.
Doing these corrections via the forum takes too long.

Should this be Poison Elves: Petunia (Drew Hayes’…)?

Will do, thanks Steven

Hi just an update from my current experience -
I downloaded the latest update.
I do get downloads of covers I don't have.
However watermarked covers are still not replaced with none watermarked versions.
A workaround that works for me is when I find a title with watermarked covers, I open the picture folder delete all the covers, then go to the previous title, then forwards to the title such that they are no picture icons showing, then download covers, and hey presto I have none watermarked covers.
A bit of a pain though.
-
Can I request that these are displayed on the titles screen please.
-
Yes I get the no larger covers message.
But I didn't before the latest version. I just used to get the watermarked covers replaced in nearly all cases.
Now I rarely get anything but the message.
It's all very odd.
Happy to try your solutions and thanks for your help but something has definately changed.
-
Start with Nancy Drew and do the next 30 titles.
Not a single none watermarked cover replaces a watermarked cover for me.
-
Is it possible to request a new feature such that they can be viewed on the title screen?
-
Before I upgraded, when I downloaded covers from Comicbase HQ I got covers without watermarks. (replacing the old watermarked covers)
After upgrading to the 4K I now rarely get any new covers - which means I keep the old watermarked covers, obviously I would prefer none watermarked covers.
Something seems to have changed at your end?
Is the folder we download from different?
Since January last year have been going through Comicbase from A-Z one by one getting better covers , and uploading hundreds of better covers when I find them, I made it to "N" in the alphabet but now it seems not worthwhile continuing because there are very little none watermarked covers coming my way.
I try and do a A-Z pass of Comicbase each year, but got slowed up this year because I found lots of new titles to submit.
And yes I am obsessive - lol!
All the best for the holidays folks.

When I use issue custom fields I can see them. I can choose to view them in the columns.
However when I use title custom fields, custom checks, I can't see them on the title screen - is this a technical issue or am I doing something wrong?
-
Thanks that works - cheers

When I use find to search for titles I would like the option to instead of a list of titles being given to have all the issues of those titles.
So for example if I search for all titles with for example Magik in the title I don't get the list of titles, instead I get all the issues of those titles listed.
Hope this is clear.
There may already be a way of doing this that I don't know -apologies if this is so.

A question for the livestream:
Which fields in the title screen are ours to add data to and which are Comicbase's - which will Comicbase potentially overwrite with updates and which are not overwritten?
Ditto issue fields?
(The easiest way to see the fields available are "add title" and "add issue")
-
Thanks for clarifying -I was trying to find missing covers and was confused and didn't want to submit in error.
-
The title on the covers in this title "Infinity Warps: Soldier Supreme"
Is the title correct?
Ditto:
Infinity Wars: Iron Hammer; Infinity Wars: Ghost Panther; Infinity Wars: Arachknight; Infinity Wars: Two In One; Infinity Wars: Weapon Hex
I don't know what the indica on these comics states but is it Wars or Warps?
-
I watch the replay of the livestream because I can't make it due to other commitments.
A question I have is:
When adding a new title it used to be easy to click on icons for superheroes, war, romance, adult etc; this has changed with recent versions of comicbase and I don't know how to use it.
Any chance of explaining in the livestream?
-
When I go to a title I see the publisher below the title.
Then when I highlight an issue the publisher disappears.
When I click on an issue I would like to still be able to see the publisher.
-
These are the same title.
I would suggest deleting Hatha-Yoga as this one had less issues, data, and pictures attached.
-
Thank you for your advice.
One last point, since most Marvel and DC comics have digital versions should all issues have a -Dig version after the paper version? e.g.
Uncanny X-Men
1
1-Dig
2
2-Dig
etc
Title Field Corrections?

If I go to modify title and either correct the year, or the description, or the comments, or the tags, and then click submit new or corrected data, do these corrections hit Comicbase HQ?
If not how do we submit title corrections?
I come across title descriptions and would like to submit them wherever there isn't one already.
