  1. Steven, I did as you suggested and nothing changed so I removed the program and then reloaded it and that seems to have fixed the issues. But I would like to elaborate on the duplicate problem that always occurs when I get error messages when trying to load new purchases from my phone app into the software. On many occasions when I use the Check for Sales and Purchases function I get an error message that says something like, "Issue not found". Once I get that message I am unable to load any issues from the batch that I had just scanned in. For example if I scanned 10 buys on my app and then when trying to load them I get that message, none of the 10 buys (or any other subsequent buys) goes into the software. And eventually when I email you or reload the software the function works but of course by that time I have manually entered all those 10 buys into the software ( I don't have hours every time this error happens to resolve it so I leave the error there until I do have time, most often during the weekends) and so those 10 issues are now duplicated in the software - program shows I have two copies of them instead of one. This would be an easy fix if there was a report in the software that lists out all the most recent issues added. That way I could simply go through that list and make sure only one issue resides in the software. Does such a report exist and if so where? IF not do you plan on adding this functionality in in the future? Also, in the past when I used the Check for Sales and Purchases function it would tell me exactly how many issues were loaded but now it doesn't. I simply hear a bell that indicates the load was done. Why was that bit of useful information removed from the function? At least if I knew how many issues get loaded I would have a target of how many duplicates I needed to find and remove. All of this just makes it hard for me to feel confident that the software has all my purchases in correctly, Well, thank you for hearing me out. I look forward to your response.
  2. Hi. I am having strange issues with my software while trying to scan in some recent release comics, Star Trek: Sons of Star Trek and Black Widow & Hawkeye. See pictures below. For Star Trek Sons I was typing the name in the Find box at the top of the software and it showed up as Sons of Star Trek but when I clicked it, it disappeared and now I cannot find it as a title to enter into my collection. I have tried Star Trek: Sons of Star Trek and every possible variation but it doesn't appear anymore. Same thing happened when I tried to enter Napalm, appeared as an option to enter but then it disappeared. I used my phone app to scan in the Star Trek issue but when I go to load it I get the error box shown below about the 'Item Not found" How can it be not found when I literally used the app to find it? This doesn't make sense. Now, as in the past when I get this NOt Found error message, when it is resolved the software then loads it into my collection but I've already scanned multiple issues and then got the message ( so I just entered them into collection manually. So now when it reloads everything that was in queue in the phone app I will have no idea what will essentially be duplicated. Is there any function in the software where I can generate a report that shows time of when issues are entered into the collection? That would help greatly in weeding out any duplicated entries. With the BlackWidow/Hawkeye, when I put the name in search box it appears but none of the General or Credits tabs contain any information about the comic issue. Can you please look into this and let me know what needs to be done/fixed. Do I have to reinstall the software?
  3. I've downloaded and installed the latest version and deleted all the databases as you suggested and still could not get the comics I scanned with my app to load. I then deleted the comicbase program and tried to reinstall it but now I get the below error message when trying to install it. What can I do next to get this corrected and the program to work properly? Thanks!

Hello, I scanned in three new comics on my phone app but when I try to load them onto ComicBase on my computer I get this message: Original Item Not Found: Media: 1, Title=Transformers (Image) item number =1/B How do I correct this? The other two titles didn't load either. This has happened quite often when using the phone app and causes me a lot of grief. What is the cause of this and how can I prevent something like this from happening again? Thank you.
  5. Hi. I haven't been able to get my collection to download to my phone app no matter what I try. I tried to Rebuild list but nothing happens. Do I have to delete and reload the whole program? Thank you.

I am trying to load some new purchases via the Scan Item function on my phone app but when I open ComicBase Professional Edition v23.1.02209 and use the Check for Sales and Purchases option I get the below Not Found error message. Once I hit OK and close this message it keeps coming back no matter how many times I close and reopen the program and try the Check for Sales and Purchases function. How do I stop this message from coming back? I can no longer use the Scan function to load anything until this is cleared up. Why isn't there a Clear the Queue type function to "empty" the cache so I can use the scan function again?

This week I tried to scan in the #1 Image Firsts issues of Fire Power, Paper Girls, The Walking Dead, Monstress, Nocterra, Astro City and Descender on my phone using the ComicBase app, but I got an error message for each one. I scanned regular issues I bought the same day, and they scanned in fine. I updated my program on my desktop using the Rebuild List option, and still cannot get any of the Image Firsts added. What can I do? Thanks!

I added a title to my collection using the app and it appears in my Collection Report but it does not appear in the Titles section ( the button at the top right section of the screen in 2021 Professional Edition. How do I update the Titles section so that it appears there? I really wish this program had some sort of refresh button in certain areas so I don't have to keep coming to this group and asking questions on updating my collection information. Very frustrating. Thanks!
  10. Not quite. I know how to scan on the app and then add new purchases. The problem is getting the purchases to show up in the Titles section located between the left and right arrows. That is how I am able to edit the quantities in my collection. Clicking Titles opens my collection up in a database format where I can update quantities, condition, etc.

I used my phone app to load new purchases into the software but I cannot figure out how to update the software to show the purchases when I click on the Titles button at the top right of the program between the Left and Right arrows. Can someone tell me how to do that? I saved the database, closed the program, restarted and still no update to that Titles section. When I choose Report/ Collection Report / Preview I see the additions. But when I click or Report/ Collection Overview / Preview I don't. I click the "Save to Web" button but that doesn't update the Titles either. Why aren't there more explicit instructions on how to do these simple things? The IA is so not intuitive that it frustrates me so much every time I try to use it. Thank you,
  12. I am at my wits end trying to figure out how to do the simplest things on CB and the software is constantly crashing. How do I do super simple things such as add an old title or issue in? Is there a database that pops up with a list of issues that I can then click to add to my collection? Kind of like using a Excel spreadsheet where all my info is there and I can change whatever. How do I even see my collection on the screen as a table from where I can adjust quantity or condition? I currently have 2000+ comics in my database that I printed up and then inventoried each issue, coming up with missing issues that need to be added or quantity that needs to be changed. And every time I download the db on to Excel or csv I find that the program doesn't actually download every issue. No rhyme or reason to why certain lines just don't appear. For example I downloaded my collection to Excel and all comcis from D to M went missing! This so frustrating and one of the reasons I stopped using this program many years ago. So basically what I am asking is where can I find a detailed User Guide that can take me steps by step through the process of learning how to use this program? I'll gladly pay for it because so far I can't do much of anything with the program. Thank you.
  13. Hi. I am trying to add the Amazing Spider-Man: Skating on Thin Ice #1 (published 1993) comic to my collection but have no idea where I can find the title using the software so I can add it. I don't want to add it as a new comic if it already exists in your database. How can I do this? Thanks!
  14. Hi. After I scan a new buy with my phone app, I go to the program and Internet/Check for new sales and purchases" and I get a message saying " Original Item not found: media 1 title=Amazing Spiderman, The (5th Series) item number=57" I get this same message for any comic I try to add. How do I fix this? Thanks!
  15. Mark, thanks for the info. "In ComicBase, pick a report style (ex: Collection Report) under the Reports Menu, pick your report options, and hit the 'Save to Web' to upload it to your online account" seems to have done the trick. Thanks!
  16. I keep having to go to FIND > OTHER > My Comics > FIND to get my collection to display. Is there any faster way to do this? Also can I save the screen so that it always opens up showing my collection? Thanks!
  17. I went to the program and did the "Check for New Sales and Purchases" and it loaded there but not in the mobile app. The mobile app has no apparent way to automatically refresh.
