#1-C is by Dave Johnson and has his sig in the lower right corner in red
-
#1-B is the foil cover by Oeming, note the word "Blue" in the title isn't actually blue.

Blue Book from Dark Horse is kind of a mess. Based on the UPC, I have #1-B but the pic in CB for #1-B is actually for #1-C which also shares a pic with #1-D. #1-E has a pic that appears to be a virgin variant of the pic for #1-B but the pic for #1-B was wrong to begin with. #1-F should have the pic to #1-E. #1-G has the same pic as #1-F. #1-C has a pic that fits the description of #1-D. Based on the description, #1-C should have the pic for #1-B as it has Dave Johnson's signature in the lower right of the cover.
I'm sure none of that makes sense, so let's try this:

I deleted the first one on the drop down, "ComicBase Database" and it took 2022 and 2023 with it. "ComicBase DataBase(1)" still has the ID ending in f9214. Under "My Comics," everything is gone, not a database at all. On the mobile app, all four databases are there but empty.
I typed the update above and went back to confirm everything only to find that "ComicBase Database(1)" has nothing in it now. The mobile app shows that it is the sole survivor of my purge. It shows it empty though.
It took a few minutes to spread everywhere but it appears to have worked!
-
Well that made it all more confusing. There is nothing at all for any database in the mobile app and the renamed database isn't there.
In My Account>My Comics, there are two other mysterious databases "ComicBase Database" and "ComicBase Database (1)." The second one has no reports under it. The 2022 and 2023 are in the drop down but both change back to the "ComicBase Database" and have the error message "Could not find a part of the path "C:\ReportStore\MedicAR\{3e...f9214}" next to the "Remove Report" button but I can view any of the reports. If I select the "ComicBase Database" directly, it also has the message about the path.
At a a glance, it looks like maybe one database has three names associated with it and has a fourth name that is empty.
But then again, looking on My Profile page, all four databases are in the drop down but there are only two database ID numbers when I select any of them. Just like on the "My Comics" page, the 2022 and 2023 change over to "ComicBase Database" when I select them. Regardless of whether I select CB DB, 2022, or 2023, the ID number is the same, ending in d12d6. If I select "ComicBase Database (1)" the ID number ends in f9214. The f9214 ID is associated with the other database on the other page.
Did I make that complicated enough? I'm thinking the best answer is to go on the website and delete everything and start over, what do you think?

Disregard on the AtomicAvenue thing...I had "Show only in-stock items" checked.

I found about a half dozen in my copy of CB this weekend. I was entering books and ran into a few Wizard 1/2s. Each one I pulled up had multiple copies listed of only the 0.5 issues. It didn't matter how many different versions of 0.5 there were, they were duplicated multiple times. Heroes Reborn comes to mind. I had a regular copy and a platinum(?) version. Both were in CB and there were probably between four and six identical entries for each of them. All of the Wizard 1/2s (0.5s) I added were the same. Additionally, no other issues in the titles were duplicated. I really didn't give it much of a thought on the first one. Or the second one. By the third I was questioning my sanity!
On a related note, in looking at AtomicAvenue, there is no platinum edition. I didn't create an entry for mine, it was in CB already.
-
This weekend, I cleaned up my saved information on the site. I renamed by primary database from "Complete Collection 2022" to "Complete Collection 2023" which I didn't think would be a big deal. I deleted my old stuff and went into CB where I thought that I saved my reports to the web. I've saved these more times than I can count and never had a problem beyond it taking up to half an hour for them to become available. I didn't give it a thought when they didn't turn up on the app right away and assumed that they would be there later. I received the usual messages about how they had been successfully saved and asked whether I wanted to go to the site.
We're over 24 hours now and they're still not there. Has there been a known problem? Is anyone else experiencing similar issues? None of my overviews or reports are there and the db I was using isn't even listed as an option. I updated Sidekick with the new db name and had it perform all tasks. My backup shows up on the CB site but the upload time is wrong. It shows 9:52 PM but I know it was hours earlier, probably closer to 4 or 4:30 because I was making dinner by 5.

Disregard.

Thank you!
My work around was to move the title to comics, added what I needed to add, then moved them all back.

#1-H of this title has the wrong picture associated with it.
It currently has:
But it should be:
I don't know where the version with only Kermit the Frog on the cover belongs but I am guessing it should be 1-I. I'm basing this on it being based on the second print cover which, according to Midtown Comics was released on 5/28/2009 and that would put it close to the Heroes Con. I'm certain the group pic cover is from Emerald City because that's where I got it.

On the advice of someone on here (sorry, I really don't remember whom it was) I moved a collection I track into Newspapers. The idea was that since I don't have newspapers, I could turn off updates and keep those items safe there after having them deleted repeatedly after updates. I went back in today to start rebuilding my missing items and am unable to duplicate anything in the title. I tried comics, books, and magazines and was able to duplicate items without issue.
I get this window:
With this in the details:

Sorry, I've had a lot on my plate lately and haven't had a good opportunity to follow up.
As for the lack of a serial number, I have seen this kind of thing a few times although I can't immediately recall any specific titles. It's limited to 260 copies but the printer may make 350 (not specific, I just chose a random number) in the event of problems with any copies plus creator comps and the like. The original 260 were numbered and distributed at the convention but any others would lack the serial number and may make it into the market either from the publisher or through contributors to the book.
As for finding any of these in CB, they weren't there as best I can tell. I have submitted a new title, "Tick, The: San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive Edition" for their SDCC exclusives from 2014 thru 2020. Maybe we will get luck this time and it will be accepted!
-
Would it be possible to change the chirps when adding items different for when an item is located in CB and when the UPC doesn't match anything? It's a picky little thing but I think it would make adding issues easier. I've had times when I've been putting new issues into CB and thought that they had been accepted only to count after it was over and then find that the barcode didn't take and doesn't match anything in the system. I can be a bit of a procrastinator and sometimes add tons of books at once and don't always look at the screen to verify that every book as found/added.
Maybe a "ding" when it is found and a "buzz" when it isn't?
-
Under the comics title "Batman's Mystery Casebook" there are two items, #1 cover priced at $8.99 and #1-2 which was free. Looking #1 up, it shows to be 144 pages. #1-2 has 26 pages, less than 20% of the first print. Is calling it a second print really the right way to go? The cover reads that it "Includes a chapter of the graphic novel" and nothing in the indicia indicates a second print. Wouldn't "Special Edition" be a better designation since it's on the cover? Or maybe "Giveaway Version"?
-
A pic would be a huge help.
Anything Tick related is an absolute nightmare. They randomly publish titles, specials, exclusives, and any number of other types of issues with no clear designation as to whether they are continuations of old titles, related to current titles, or straight up new series. I have tried many times to get my copy of the 2015 San Diego Comic Con blank variant into CB without success. I don't know if the title is so confusing that no one really pays attention anymore or my submissions are unclear in some way. For me, it goes back to the idea of breaking books out to match the indicia or at least grouping them together for exclusives like SDCC.
I can find other SDCC blanks from 2015-2018.
The #0 from 2018 is part of the 2017 series, assuming that it is actually from 2018. I have never handled any of these raw, only the slabbed versions so I can't open them to verify dates. Mine is from 2015 as it was signed that year. Beyond the blanks, there are other SDCC exclusives as well.
I'm betting this is the original poster's book:
I'm not finding it in CB either.
-
I hadn't considered it. That's a great idea!
-
It's under "Marvel Year In Review" as #6

Would be possible to add a check box to keep items from being a part of the weekly updates? Here's my dilemma, I have a collection of prop keys from Locke & Key. They are produced by Skelton Crew Studios and there are currently 55 of these and I have several but not all. I want to keep track of what I do and do not have but since they're not any of the media in CB, there's no reason to submit them and get them into the master database. The problem arises when I download a new update. The items I have in stock are safe but the items I do not have will be deleted every time unless I want to manually delete single issues of other titles every week.
-
Thanks for the help, sorry for the long delay in posts.
I have done a rebuild fairly recently but I couldn't tell you exactly when. Let's say within a month or so. I do have all of the new titles mentioned ('Absolution (Avatar)') but not the ones that they changed from. I'll try starting a rebuild tonight and try again this weekend to see what happens.
I'm using CB 2022.0.2.1680

After downloading the update, I checked Unrecognized Items and was shocked to find a very long list. I usually have several unrecognized items as I have used extremely high printings to denote sketched covers in my collection where I have scanned the actual books and attached them to my CB entry/database. I also enter FCBD issues as such in their respective titles rather than as FCBD variants (i.e. Savage Dragon #148 is Savage Dragon FCBD 2009 in my DB). This time is very different, though. For the sake of space, I stopped at DC but they went on through X-Men: The Jewels of Cyttorak
These are unrecognized items that are not in my database:
007 1/A thru 1/L
007 2/A thru 2/I
A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Manga Classics) 1
Absolution 0 thru 0/C
Absolution 1 thru 1/F
Absolution 2 thru 2/H
Absolution 3 thru 3/G
Absolution 4 thru 4/D
Absolution 5 thru 5/D
Absolution 6 thru 6/D
Absolution Bk 1

Champion, The 1
Damage Control (Vol. 4) 2
Damage Control (Vol. 4) 2/A
