How to list titles by publisher?

This is probably something very easy that I'm missing but how can I display lists of comics from 1 publisher, or sort titles by publisher and then alphabetically by title inside the publisher?  I export my collection just for myself because I'm familiar with Excel for finding and sorting by the fields that I want but I don't see how to export the Publisher for each title and each comic.

Thanks,

There is not a way to export the Publisher. However you can display it, then use windows Copy paste to get the information.  The basic steps (I am doing this from memory from a few years ago but the basics should still work) are:

Background information.
There are two types of Find that CB uses and each has a different display.\
A Find on Issue fields (this includes Advanced Find) returns Title, Issue Number, and other information.
A Find on Title fields returns Title, Publisher, and other information.

To get Publisher you need to use a Title Find.

Basic steps

Get the Issue information. This can be by using Export or you can do Issue field Find, then copy/paste the information. Then get the information into Excel (Import or Paste).

Next run a Find using Title fields. To get all of your collection, you can do something like Find Title Field IS GREATER THAN and put a 'space' (press the space bar) in the text box. At the bottom , there is a drop-down box to include either All, items IN or items NOT IN your collection. Select IN your collection.

When the Find results are displayed, click in the top Title cell to highlight it.
Then scroll all the way to the bottom, press and hold the SHIFT key then click the the last Publisher cell.
This should highlight all the cells in the two columns Title and Publisher.
Use CTRL+C to copy the highlighted information.
Go to Excel and Paste in this information.

Next you need to use Excel skills...
There is a way to 'join' the two lists you have (one with all the Title, Issue numbers and the other with Title, Publisher) into another list based on Title being equal.
I don't recall exactly how to do this but it wasn't too difficult. Google search should give you information on how to do this.

PS If you run an Advanced Find (displays Title, Issue information), you can access the Publisher with ComicTitles.Publisher in the Items Where box. For example, this will return only Marvel Titles:

ComicTitles.Publisher = 'Marvel'

NOTE: For Books you would use BookTitles.

Thank you very much!  I'll try that.

Your explanation was good but when I read that to get the Publisher that you need to use a Title find instead of a Issue find then I thought to myself how that made sense because all of the issues for a title would obviously be from the same Publisher.  But then it occurred to me that the next title that I have to enter into my ComicBase collection is Astro City.  I don't know how many Publishers have put out Astro City mini-serieses over the years.  There was nothing wrong with what you said but my first response to reading it was kind of wrong because some titles can switch Publishers.

Thanks, again, for the help!
