Why "lock price" checked on some comics

Why is "lock price" checked on some comics automatically? I haven't manually locked any prices but see comics that have been price locked...ones with higher values but not all high value have the check. Seems random.

This is a mystery to me as well. But I did notice after a software update that when I started up ComicBase it asked if I wanted to "uncheck" all the lock price fields. I said yes.
