  1. I had actually considered creating a separate title because of the changes to content and Publisher, so that's what I'll go ahead and do.

Thanks for the speedy response and thorough research!

And just out of curiosity, where did you pull your information from? Your source might save us both some time in future situations like this.

  2. Also of note for this particular book is that the actual content is a bit different as it has been revised and updated with the page count being higher. I'm just wondering if it would be more accurate to refer to it as a variant.

I'll go with whatever the consensus is, I just want to make sure I'm doing it right moving forward.

  3. I have two copies of the same book, published at different times by different publishers. One is the original first edition, and the second is a 15th anniversary edition, revised and updated.

My question is, how do I enter the 15th anniversary edition? Should I enter it as a new book since it is a different publisher, or should I enter it as a variation of the first edition?

    Thanks!

  4. I'm starting to enter all my hardcover books into CB, but I have run into a problem naming a new book.

I have a hardcover of the book "Magician" by Raymond E. Feist, but when I try to enter it as a new book with that name it won't let me. It wants to pick a name from the list of matching titles.

    What am I doing wrong?

  5. So after installing ComicBase 2023 I noticed that there are some new columns that I find very irrelevant.  Specifically: "Pict Filesize", "Pict Height", "Pict Width", "Pict Modified".

This seems like very unnecessary information. Is there a way to turn off columns that you don't want to see?

I've actually been wondering how to do this for a while now as there are a few more that really aren't relevant to me.

  6. I've submitted corrections to this title twice now over the last several months but they do not appear to have been accepted. The corrections involved the credits as they are wildly inaccurate.

I'd like to re-submit the corrections but I really don't want to take the time to update all the credits yet again if they are just going to be wiped out again. Can you tell me why the corrections I submitted are not being accepted? I am pulling all the information straight from the credits in the actual comic.

  7. I was going through the most recent Unrecognized Comics in my collection and noticed that issues 4-7 of Elflord (5th Series) are no longer recognized. I don't have the issues on hand to verify that they exist, but at least three separate sources online list them.  Both MyComicShop and Mile High list it (probably incorrectly) as Elflord Cuts Loose, and they all have 7 issues. Comicvine also lists all 7 issues for this volume: https://comicvine.gamespot.com/elflord/4050-58016/

I also noticed that the Publisher is listed as Night Wynd but the cover scans clearly show the Warp logo.

Any clarification would be appreciated as Elflord is one of the titles I have on my "wish list" for completing one day.

    Thanks!

  8. I accidently created a new database a while back, and even though I have removed it from the list of databases to use it still shows up online under "My Comics". Is there a way to remove from there? ComicBase Mobile always defaults to this empty database when I open it and it's kind of annoying.

It's just a minor inconvenience but it would be nice if I could remove it.

    Thanks!

  9. Well that makes more sense. I knew this was a feature but for some reason I thought I could tweak the settings in Sidekick. No wonder I couldn't find it!

I unchecked it and it seems to have solved the problem. It's still a little strange that it keeps downloading the smaller image though.

Thanks for all the quick feedback guys!

What he is referring to is, when you installed the covers, did you use the Qucik Start file (that only has Thumbnail sized covers) or did you intall the complete, full-sized covers.

I haven't actually installed new covers in years. I have a lot of cover images that I scanned in myself that are much higher resolution than what is available to me as an Archive Edition user.

And in Preferences, do you have 'Automatically download larger pictures when viewing items' checked?

Yes, I do have it checked.

Normally, when you drag/drop covers to CB, the Picture information (height, width, size, etc.) gets updated. Assuming you have a larger cover, this should have prevented the program from downloading a different cover when selected.

The pictures I was trying to add were definitely bigger than the existing cover.

As soon as I hit "Replace" it will briefly change and then the old image will get re-downloaded. I don't even have time to run the Advanced Find you suggested.

  11. The thing is, I’m not trying to upload new covers. I’m just trying to add new covers locally so that I can print out ID labels with accurate covers. For the two covers I mentioned they just keep getting replaced by the old covers when I highlight the row for printing. It’s very strange.
