So, I've been playing around with an Excel Workbook to find Holes. In the process of, about a week ago I went to update my Cloud Saved Wanted report, and was told there was a problem with my Crystal Reports. I didn't think anything of it, as there had been recent discussions about this problem, so, I followed the directions, uninstalled, removed SAP CR, reinstalled, and everything was happy. I produced a new Wanted Report, saved it to the cloud, with a 4/26/2022 date.
A couple days later, through Check for Updates, a new version of ComicBase was found, 22.0.2.1680. I installed this. I noticed that during the update, it said it was doing something with SAP CR. I didn't think anything of it at the time.
With the help of my Excel tool, I started adding some Wanted issues. I then decided to generate a new Wanted report. I am now, again, being told that there is a problem with Crystal Reports. This is 5 days and 1 CB program update after I had successfully repaired Crystal Reports. Before I go through the process of uninstalling/reinstalling, is there any other advice you could give or information you would want to know?

I'm working on an Excel-based tool to support Hole Hunting, similar to Adam Sternberg's Collection Hole Finder. Ultimately, the goal is to update the Wanted status on issues in ComicBase, for Wanted List Reports and AtomicAvenue Wish Lists.
The intended flow is
- Output from ComicBase a CSV Item Checklist of Owned and Missing issues in Owned Titles
- Load Item Checklist data into the spreadsheet
- Generate a listing of missing issues in holes
- Research/decide which issues in the listing you want/don't want on the spreadsheet
- Update the Wanted status of issues in ComicBase.
- Additional Research/decisions of which issues you want or don't want in ComicBase
There are two features that I don't think are in ComicBase currently that would streamline this process.
- Add an option to include "Wanted" as a field included in the Item Checklist. (I could copy Wanted to a Custom Checkbox and output the Custom Checkbox, or I could generate a separate report of Only Wanted issues, but the ability to directly output Wanted Status would simplify the process.)
- Add an Import option that doesn't effect Quantity, but can Set/Clear Wanted, Marked or Custom Checkbox state for issues.

Why does the first fail to generate a report, while the second does? By my reckoning, shouldn't the two methods produce identical output?

So, I can generate an Item Checklist, of Missing Items, that I have checked as Wanted.
How about an Item Checklist of unwanted Missing Items?

This item appears to currently be listed as variant 1/Q of the title "Demon Days: X-Men". I'm not sure this is the right place...
Content-wise, I can see the similarity, as it contains the inked-but-unwatercolored contents of the source book, "Demon Days: X-Men", but this book is twice as long, as it also contains a creator note, character studies and raw pencil-art for most of the book as well.
Having said that, the Indicia reads "Demon Days: X-Men Creator's Cut" and the book has a UPC that is different (75960620312300111) from those of the others (for example, 1/O listed as 75960620105100130), clearly indicating Marvel's intention that this is a non-variant #1 issue of a separate title.

Did a content update and I see that "X_Men Red (2nd Series)" has been renamed without the colon. So I'm moving my single issue from the old to the new title, and find an odd navigation issue...
Starting on the first, "X-Men: Red", if I click the "Next Title" button in the upper right, I move to "X-Men: Red (2nd Series)". Click it again, I move to "X-Men Red (2nd Series)". All good.
Starting on the last, "X-Men Red (2nd Series)", if I click the "Previous Title" button in the upper right, I move to.... "X-Men: Red". It skipped over the middle title "X-Men: Red (2nd Series)".
Normal browsing through titles currently will show all titles, regardless of if I own any issues or not. At the moment, I had added the issue #1 to the colon-less (2nd), but had not zeroed out the issue #1 in the colon-full (2nd), so all three X-Men Red titles had at least one issue owned.
Had just updated to 22.0.1.1666

I've noticed this on and off, but I haven't bothered to try and isolate why...
Psychic typing in the Find box occasionally stops working for me. In the recent past before the most recent occurrence, I've changed my picture reference and had the PC sleep while CB was open, but I don't know if either of those is related or not. I might look further into this at a later date. Just wanted to let you know.

My comic store person said something about the issues in question all being printed by a new printing partner, with the suggestion that maybe there was either a miscommunication or a supply-chain/inventory of cover stock issue.

To which I say again... We'll happily accept notations when a book uses a "card stock" cover, but you are actively discouraging any notation of "plain paper" cover or similar for this non-standard printing?
1) I forsee the possibility that, through rarity due to being less durable, high quality versions might become scarcer and thus more valuable. Would be nice to know why.
2) If they reprint with regular covers using the same or similar illustration, would that cause a change of thought?

Was going through my "something odd with these books pile", and pulled this out.
Since I have done multiple "Mass Change" to erase all Notes before updates, I don't have merged notes anymore.
Have entered my unsigned, blue skies version as #1.
I consider this a done item.

The cover is anti-stiff. It has the feel of having used the same paper as the interior pages.

What would be the proper term for the 'cover stock' that was used on this and a handful of other books this and next couple of weeks?

When does 7+91 = 104? When merging recent boxes into the main collection.
So, moving around boxes, and I've developed what I call "Longbox Arm"; bruises on my inner forearm about 3 inches above the wrist from moving full longboxes.
I'd pay money for padded plastic inner arm guards. Slap a ComicBase logo on them and they would probably sell themselves.

Thanks Mark, but, that's what I did on 4/26, when I was first told Crystal Reports had a problem. And that resolved the problem.
And then I installed the newest update, and it broke again.
Are you not concerned that this has happened? Is there anything I can look at and report back to help with understanding how it is broken and how it happened? I thought that this was a recently resolved issue and was not expected to happen with current updates?
