Art H. Wolfenson
I am running into some issues with the Whitman variant. For example, I have Fantastic Four #182 in a Whitman variant, but the listing on Atomic Avenue does not show that. Some comics show Whitman variants in the pictures, but they really aren't, as I have the other one's as well.
Gregory Hecht
If I understand your post correctly, you are saying that you have Whitman variants that are not listed in the database (but not that there are Whitman variants in the database that have a scan of a non-Whitman version of the issue). You can submit the Whitman variants that you have along with scans. Your FF #182 would be submitted as #182/A for example, and you can look at the existing Whitman variants that are already in the database for guidance. Alan DeCamp
There are no Marvel regular comic "Whitman" variants. They are early "Direct Editions". If it was reprinted by Whitman, it would have the Whitman logo on it, like some of the Marvel Treasury Editions. DC Whitman editions had the Whitman logo printed over the DC logo. The large diamond books are the direct editions, started with a large diamond, went to a small diamond, then the letter "M", etc. This link is a great article on it: https://boards.cgccomics.com/topic/463770-can-we-all-agree-that-marvel-whitmans-are-not-a-thing/
