Brian Gerhardt Posted December 7, 2020 Posted December 7, 2020 I had an issue after updating to 2021 (build 1240) where, upon the first startup when it got updating the media file, an error would occur saying the Database was locked. I canceled the startup and made sure Comicbase was no longer running (via Task Manager) Then I started Sidekick and did an optimization of the database. Once done, I tried launching the main ComicBase again and successfully got past the lock point. Hope this is helpful to anyone else who encounters this issue 1
Anthony Hazell Posted December 20, 2020 Posted December 20, 2020 Thanks Brian! That got rid of it! I had two. I also logged out of Microsoft's OneDrive.
Mark J. Castaneda Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Take a look at this article we wrote up relating to this problem:
matt bernier Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 Hi Mark where is the article for database locked I can not find it thanks Matt
Mark J. Castaneda Posted September 15, 2021 Posted September 15, 2021 if the first post by Brian didn't help you then try restarting your computer and see if that helps. "locked" messages usually mean the db file is in use by another program/process on your computer. Programs like our secondary application ComicBase Sidekick OR backup programs like OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. can cause this lock message. Either wait out the process going on or cancel it in the program/process that's working on your db file so you can use it in the main CB software.
