The database lists a TPB #1 for the book All of the Marvels. This should be an UNnumbered hardcover. It is not part of a series and, as far as I know, the only edition at this time is a hardcover (price etc seems to match the hardcover that I have).

Over the last couple of years, IDW has been publishing Smithsoninan coloring books, and some of these have made their way into the database. Dinosaurs: A Smithsonian Coloring Book • This title needs a capitalization correction (The "i" in "Dinosaurs" should be lowercase) • Incorrect artist is listed (I have submitted this correction) • Incorrect writer is listed. The book lists "National Museum of Natural History" as the author of the text contents of the book. I have submitted this correction, but I am not sure how HC feels about listing an organization as the writer rather than a person. I suggest either list the organization (as it is in the book itself) or, if need be, just leave the Writer credit blank. I prefer the former over the latter. Sea Creatures: A Smithsonian Coloring Book • Incorrect writer is listed. Same issue as above. Airplanes: A Smithsonian Coloring Book • Incorrect writer is listed. Similar situation as above, just in this case it is credited in the book as "Smithsonian's National Air & Space Museum"

Although Eternus #4 from Scout is in the current solicitation catalog, Eternus #'s 2, 3, and 4 are apparently being cancelled and will be resolicited in the future. Eternus #1 is apparently on schedule to come out next month, but #2 (which is in the database now) should be deleted. In addition, issues #3 and #4 should not be added to the database until they are resolicited.

Mark would of course be the final arbiter on these things, but I think a short comment in the Notes field would be appropriate. I wouldn't suggest making a notation in the creator field since the way CB is currently set up, only creator names can go in those fields. Plus, it has been longstanding CB editorial policy that pseudoyms don't go into the creator fields. Occasionally a discussion bubbles up about wanting the database to reflect not just the actual people who worked on the comic but also the actual names used in the comic's credits. It's a worthwhile discussion to have* but I don't know that it has ever moved up to the front burner at HC. *Especially since even some modern day mainstream creators have used pseudonyms unbeknownst to the majority of their readers... so if CB editorial policy is adhered to strictly, names like Dennis Hopeless would disappear and folks would wonder who the hell is Dennis Hallum. (The database currently lists Dennis Hallum, Dennis "Hopeless" Hallum, and Dennis Hopeless as he has published under all three names.) Similarly, some creators change their names in the middle of their career (Jim Owsley, James Owsley, James C. Owsley, Christopher Priest, and Priest are all in the database; Glynis Oliver and Glynis Wein is another example). Admittedly, the problem is a can of worms, but it probably should to be revisited.

I agree with Mark, it gets its own title. Credit Kindt not Perrier IMO.

The most recent update added the comic title Krampus: A Yuletine Adventure. That should really be Krampus: A Yuletide Adventure.

I assume you bought your scanner from Human Computing. How have you set up your scanner to talk to your computer? If it isn’t scanning numbers, it sounds like a device communication issue.

I assume that Perrier is either a pen name or is an in-world character? That there is no “real” Perrier?

This update added the comic title Frank Miller Presents: Ash Can. Usually "ashcan" is a single word, not two. It does appear as a single word on the cover. Is it different in the indicia? Also added was Lana+Flare Anniversary Edition. Should that really be Lana + Flare Anniversary Edition (note the spaces)?

I am looking for the X-Men: Ghosts tpb in the database, but I am having no luck locating it. Is it in there and I'm just not looking in the right place? (Hoping for verification that it is missing before I go to the trouble of submitting it... will probably do that as The Uncanny X-Men Book #24.)

The most recent update added the comic title DCs Terrors Through Time. Should there be an apostrophe in that title? Should Todd McFarlane's Spider-Man: Artist Edition really be listed as Spider-Man (Todd McFarlane's...): Artist Edition or as Spider-Man: Artist Edition (Todd McFarlane's...) ? Or leave it as is?

The title Heroes Hotline is listed in the database as a Comic title. It contains interviews and listings for upcoming comics, but does not contain any comic stories. It should be moved to the Magazine category.

The database contains the Comic title Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1953—The Phantom Hand & the Kelpie. It lists two issues. The indicia for issue #1 matches the title, so that is fine. However, the cover and the indicia for issue #2 actually says Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1953—The Witch Tree & Rawhead and Bloody Bones. There is no reason for these two issues to be lumped together (and it actually caused some confusion last night with an AA customer who was looking to purchase Witch Tree/Rawhead and not a duplicate issue of Phantom Hand/Kelpie). Fortunately, the correct title for issue #2 *already exists* in the database, although it lists a ComicFest reprint as the only issue. So the fix would be to move issue #2 (including cover scan) of Phantom Hand/Kelpie to become the *regular* issue #1 for Witch Tree/Rawhead.

Similarly, the following items need to be changed: Captain America Epic Collection: Arena of Death --> delete, but move the cover scan (duplication of Captain America Epic Collection #19) Captain America Epic Collection: The Bloodstone Hunt --> delete (duplication of Captain America Epic Collection #15) Doctor Strange Epic Collection: The Reality War --> delete but move the cover scan (duplication of Doctor Strange Epic Collection #5) Doctor Strange Epic Collection #2 appears to be a duplication of Doctor Strange Epic Collection #9. Please delete issue #2 as it has not been published yet. Ghost Rider Epic Collection: Hell on Wheels should be re-named to Ghost Rider Epic Collection. "Hell on Wheels" is the title of volume 1 of the series, it will not be part of the title of any of the future volumes in the Ghost Rider Epic Collection title. Iron Fist Epic Collection: Fury Of Iron Fist: similar story here, this title should really just be Iron Fist Epic Collection. The one wrinkle here is that this is likely to be a "done-in-one" series without the need for any follow-up volumes. Still, a title re-name here would maintain consistency in how the Epic Collection books are handled in the database. Killraven Epic Collection: Warrior of the Worlds: another done-in-one. I would recommend re-naming to Killraven Epic Collection for the sake of consistency.

A recent update added the Comic title 1996 Robotech Comic Calendar. Calendars have been cataloged in the Book category, so this title should be moved. Also, the calendar year usually is not included in the title and is instead used as the "issue number" or whatever the equivalent is in the Books category. The Comic title The Art and Making of Transformers: War For Cybertron was added. Should this be in the Books category instead? The title Cerebus: High Society Notebook was added. My understanding is that this contains Dave Sim "sketchbook material." I don't have a copy to know whether this contains actual comics or not. If not, then it should be moved to either the Book or Magazine category. The title Marvel Studios Eternals: Art of the Movie was added as a Comic. I think that this probably belongs in the Book category. The title Todd McFarlane’s Spider-Man: Artis’t Edition was added. That title definitely contains a typo and it should probably be Todd McFarlane’s Spider-Man: Artist's Edition. The title X-Men Epic Collection: X-Cutioner’s Song was added. Marvel's Epic collections don't get listed individually, they are supposed to be listed under their "umbrella" title using the Volume number (they are not published chronologically) as the issue number. Thus, this item should actually be listed as X-Men Epic Collection #21.

When determining whether something belongs in the Comic or the Magazine category, it is less a question of whether the titles are one-shots, mini/maxi-series, or ongoing than it is the nature of the contents. "Handbook" style publications (e.g., DC's Whos' Who and Marvel's OHOTMU and similar) don't have comic storytelling in them. They contain prose and illustrations, so they are better suited for the Magazine category. With that in mind, a lot of titles have been moved into the Magazine section of the database, but a few may have been missed. Encyclopedia Deadpoolica is an example of something that should be moved over to the Magazine section if it hasn't already.

Also, the indicia for Victorian Secret: Winter Wardrobe actually states that the title is Victorian Secret: Girls of Steampunk Winter Wardrobe. Don't know how you feel about changing the title now since it was published in 2011.

The following titles are classified in the database as Comics, but they should be moved to Magazines: • Gearhearts Steampunk Glamour Revue (contains artwork, photographs, non-fiction and fiction prose; no comics) • Victorian Secret: Winter Wardrobe (contains pin-up art only; no comics) I accidentally submitted a new Magazine title Victorian Secret: Girls of Steampunk Summer Catalog. Turns out that the sole issue I submitted is already in the database as Victorian Secret Girls of Steampunk Summer Special #1. The entire Victorian Secret Girls of Steampunk title needs to be moved to magazines since the contents are all pin-ups, no comic stories. I don't have any issues of the following, but based on descriptions of the contents, I suspect that some or all of these may need to also be moved to the Magazine category: • Victorian Secret: Girls of Steampunk - Girls of Summer • Victorian Secret: Girls of Steampunk - Masquerade • Victorian Secret's Summer Special If there is somebody out there who has been collecting these titles, it might be worth having them verify which of the "Victorian Secret" titles from Antarctic Press have comic stories and which ones should be moved to Magazines. A full list of the current Victorian Secret titles in the CB database is available here.

My database shows this listed as a $4.99 TPB in the Books category rather than a Comic. I don't see a $39.99 TPB in my database (although I haven't run the most recent content update on my database yet). This issue is one of those "Handbook" publications from Marvel, it shouldn't be listed as a Book or a Comic. This should be handled like the other Handbook-style floppies from Marvel and be moved to the Magazine category.

The presence of a barcode rather than a Superman shield (or other DC logo/blurb) in the lower lefthand box on the cover is a means of distinguishing newsstand from direct sales for DC books of that general timeframe. ComicBase doesn't track newsstand and direct sales copies separately unless there is something substantively different about them (different cover, different paper type, different cover price, that sort of thing). So your copy of #3 should probably not be submitted as a new variant. Of the variants that you mention, the cover dates for the first printing of issues #2 and #3 is 1987 and the reprints are marked as being from 1988. Comics.org and CB both show the corner box for the original prints as stating "The History of the DC Universe Is Must Reading." Mile High lists several issues of the series as being reprinted in 1988 (they are listed under the title "Superman 3 Comics Pack") and most of those that are pictured have a "Superman Fifty Years" design in the cornerbox (which would make more sense for 1988 than for 1987). I assume that there might also something in the indicia that allows these issues to be distinguished from one another. It might be beneficial to have something in the Item Description to help folks tell the different printings apart from one another. The variants for #7 and #9 are noted as being from a DVD collection, so I would presume those to also be legitimate variants. Mycomicshop has a version of #12 that is clearly a reprint and was included in a multipack. I suspect that this is the same kind of multipack that Mile High lists on its site, and that Mycomicshop has only ever come across a multi-pack version of #12 and not any of the others. (How to distinguish btw the two versions is explained more clearly in the listing for the original issue #12 on this page... apparently the back cover advertisement is obviously different. This might be true for the other multipack versions, but I don't know. Anyway, CB might benefit from a similar explanation for this issue in the Item Description field.) Based on the info on the Mile High site, it is likely that CB is missing a bunch of the multipack versions of issues from the 1987 Superman series.

By my count, we now have five different threads this month (all started by the same user) asking or commenting about whether Atomic Avenue is down. Putting on my Moderator's Hat™, I think that this getting out of hand. As per Mark Castaneda's post on 7/25, if somebody encounters connectivity issues with the Atomic Avenue site, here are your two options (in order of preference): 1. Send an email to support@atomicavenue.com That is the fastest way to get the word out to somebody who can do something about the problem. 2. Post something at the Atomic Avenue message board, particularly the Tech Support forum. If the AA msg boards are down, see #1 above. I am going to merge the different 7/2022 "AA is down" threads that currently exist on this message board. Any new "Is AA down" threads that get started on the ComicBase message board runs the risk of getting moved, locked, or deleted depending on circumstances and what I and the other CB board mods feel is appropriate.

The following have been cancelled by Marvel. Even though the intention is for them to be resolicited for release sometime in 2023, plans can change... and, even if they are resolicited, details such as cover price and contents can change. With that in mind, the following should be removed from the database: • What If?: Into the Multiverse Omnibus • Star Wars Legends: The Rebellion Omnibus • Spider-Man 2099 Omnibus (I'm not seeing this one in the database, so it is possible that it didn't get added yet)

Are these pictures that are on your local drive or pictures that are accessed from the HC servers? If the latter, it appears that Atomic Avenue is having issues again this evening, and that may mean that other parts of HC are also on the blink.

Similar story for X-Men Visionaries 2: The Neal Adams Collection. #1 (2nd print) and Book #1 (2nd print) are the same thing. I suggest deleting Book #1 (2nd print) so that the issue numbering within the title remains consistent.

Looks like X-Men: The Origin of Generation X #1 (2nd printing) and Book #1 (2nd printing) are the same thing. I suggest deleting the latter so that the issue numbering in the title remains consistent (i.e., there is an issue #1 first print but not a Book #1 first print).
