  1. Yeah, I should have dug it out before posting just to verify... better late than never. Cover, as in all the others, has it all printed out, "Avengers-X-Men-Eternals Eve of Judgement". Indicia has it abbreviated with punctuation, "A.X.E.: Eve of Justice" So, correction suggestion is justified.
  2. Typed "The Incredible Hulk" in the search bar, only to discover I don't find any of the expected titles in the suggestions. Type "Incredible Hulk", and there they are. Might I suggest, when someone types "The Xxxxxx" as a search, that the suggestion algorithm recognize the leading "The" and prioritize searching for "Xxxxxx" and/or "Xxxxxx AND The" over/before "The Xxxxxx"
  3. Just wanted to verify before submitting. I have Incredible Hulks #320-323, with UPCs in the corner box instead of the B/W Spider-Man face, which on the basis of the cover scans would indicate they are "Incredible Hulk, The (Canadian Edition)" and not "Incredible Hulk, The". My question is - are these Canadian, or are these American, possibly Newsstand editions? Is there other information to look at/report here? The non-Canadian Title does not include Newsstand variants in this range, while the Canadian Title stops at #322. Should these be entered as 4 non-Canadian/As, or as Canadian with a submitted #323, or something else?
  4. If it's going to be an automatic process, probably want to make sure it avoids #0 and #0.5 as well...
  5. You search for an item and you go to the screen for that Title. The grid is populated, but there is no item focused on. The information displayed is about the Title. You select an issue, and the focus is now on the grid, and the information displayed is about the issue. How about a way to go back to an unselected state, where the displayed information is back to that for the Title? When looking at a Comicbook issue, you can no longer see the Publisher. When looking at a Book, you can no longer see the Overall Title and #.
  6. Would be nice to have a Description or Synopsis field to accompany a Storyline. Number of issues. Number of Tie-ins. Possibly with some relevant Date field to allow for chronological sorting. Also a dedicated Part Number field for Sorting. Probably implies a new CB Table under the Hood.
  7. And I generally don't change condition or currency ,so hadn't. Well, since it can, might I piggyback the suggestion that some fields, especially the indexed fields like the various Artist fields, might see consistency benefits from having the form of drop-down box that also allows you to type new entries and doesn't force you to only use existing entries.
  8. Okay, that cut the process from 3 clicks in different places on the screen down to 2... How about ctrl-Click on the Magnifying Glass to rerun last Find? (Right click would not involve 2 hands, but is probably not UI friendly, since you probably think that would bring up a menu)
  9. I don't know if the live grid would support this. It does allow the presentation of a check box control inside a cell of the grid, but I'm not sure if it can host a drop-down box. It might be easier to implement but show it in the Custom tab of the Issue screen. Could be implemented on top of the Custom Text Fields, but would be more efficient database-wise if new Custom Drop-down fields were added. Some form of psychic typing might be useful, at least for fields like Store Name, but some of the others where the data is either significantly similar (Shelf 01, Shelf 02 etc.) or where the data is short (01, 02, etc.) this probably wouldn't help.
  10. Same as above, but for Storylines. All Storylines, Owned Storylines, Storylines in current Title (but issues in any Title), Storylines in current Title (only issues in current Title).
  11. I'm picturing graphs with issue number on the X-axis, price on the Y-axis, and selectable colored lines of different types. Could show Regular vs. Var A vs Var B... Regular for 2022 vs. 2021 vs 2020...
  12. I'm picturing a live grid of Title information, but with more than just the Title data, but also with issue information on a title-by-title basis, that can be displayed and searched. I'm picturing columns like: Name, Publisher, Years, etc. But also: cntOwnedReg, cntMissingReg, cntTotalReg, pctOwnedReg cntOwnedAnl, cntMissingAnl, cntTotalAnl, pctOwnedReg cntOwnedBk, cntMissingBk, cntTotalBk, pctOwnedBk And options for "No Var only/No Var or Var A/Any Var/All Var" "First Print only/Any Print/All Prints" So, you could get lists of titles in your collection, reporting how complete your collection is title by title, and can search for completed titles, or titles missing 3 or fewer issues, etc.
  13. A button shown at the top of the grid showing search results that will automatically rerun the same search. Suppose you are running a search to find something that you are going to change. You get a long list. You make some changes. The button would allow the quick rerun of the search to clear out the items you have changed, leaving only the unchanged issues in the list that still match the search criteria. Yes, I know you can click "Find | Other... | Find" and rerun the search, but that's multiple mouse moves and clicked, which could be shortened with the dedicated button. In my case, I'm processing and adding a batch of cover scans from recent acquisitions. I run a search for owned issues without cover scans, and drag-and-drop the jpgs to the grid. But, given the issue that the grid does thumbnail updates based on issue number only, shifting the focus as it goes, this process can cause problems when dragging multiple scans onto the grid with multiple titles with identical issue numbers. To deal with this, I am rerunning the search after each addition, and this would speed the process up.
  14. Noticed that the various "A.X.E." titles (Avengers vs. X-Men vs. Eternals) don't alphabetize together. Suggestion - Add the colon (and possibly the dash) to the AlphabetizedTitle field, which will automatically group subtitled books together and ahead of non-subtitled books.
  15. All others in the series are A.X.E. Not sure how to deal with this, but it is slightly annoying that all the A.X.E. titles won't alphabetize together. I take that back. Suggestion - Add the colon (and possibly dash) to the AlphabetizedTitle field, which will essentially make the Subtitle prioritized over non-subtitled names.
  16. Or have a custom text field that could be used to generate as a personal printable and searchable UPC field that could be synchronized between multiple personal databases. Also, on the basis of this conversation, guess there would be no point in making a suggestion for a new official field for if the UPC is no the front cover or not, to support selecting printing barcode labels only for books without front-facing UPCs.
  17. So, if one were to maintain 2 databases that started from the same base, one where you enter all of your new and different issues, and one where you only perform weekly updates, all issues from the base would have matching IDs and matching CB barcodes, but all issues added in each would have incompatible, overlapping IDs and CB barcodes. If one were to maintain separate databases of personal issues and for sale issues, CB barcodes are inoperable between the two. Giving it some thought, that's how it would have to be. The barcode would have to be a QRCode to incorporate the Title, issue #, Variant, Printing and Grade, you can still make multiple items with identical stats but with meaningful differences in, say, Purchase Price or Item Description.
  18. Does it use the item's UPC if it exists, and the Unique Issue ID if it doesn't, or does it use the Unique Issue ID all the time? Am I correctly remembering that the Unique Issue ID is specific to my database? Obviously, if I create a new issue (that has no UPC), it's going to have a locally assigned number that no one else would know of... but if I create one first locally, and it matches with an official one later created by CB, would it get an official globally recognized ID? And, possibly more disturbing, if I'm working with multiple databases, am I guaranteed all barcodes will work across multiple databases, or are some printed barcodes going to be tied to a particular database?
  19. CB23 might be faster, but the database is getting larger... A Full Rebuild Lists with Pictures takes forever. A Rebuild Picture References takes slightly less than forever. I have a separate directory of personal cover scans, and change the storage location more often than occasionally, less often than frequently, and run Rebuild Picture References accordingly. Mostly, this is for Comic Books Rebuild Lists - could we have options to dis/enable list rebuilding (and picture references) by Media (Book/CB/Mag/NP)? Install Pictures - can we have options to dis/enable installing pictures by Media? In aid for this, it would probably make sense to rearrange the pictures directory structure to have a top-level separation by Media, then Publisher/Title.
  20. Have I mentioned I'm a new Zappy Zap user? Is there a function for printing a bar code sticker (for a bag) for comics without UPCs? How does one do it? What form of sticker should it be printed on? And, because I'm curious, what magic number/code does it generate to print?
  21. Repoke suggestion for a Livestream conversation (assuming it didn't already happen, I missed few). Would like to see what new and modified information submissions look like from their side of the screen.
  22. I might be wrong, but it look like there is more feedback information during the various stages of the Rebuild Lists tasks. It looks like the window title always gives an updating "xx% of yyy Task", and some of the tasks have a numeric "xxxx/yyyyy" progress (when not mentioning the item-by-item being touched). While an estimated time to complete the current task would be more information, it would probably not be helpful, since what we would be most useful would be a time to complete the whole process, which is probably inestimable. But, it might be nice to include in the updating window title something akin to (Task x/y) to give a heads-up for how much is left to be done.
  23. Database modifications aren't case sensitive?
  24. Add by Barcode is for increasing Quantity in Stock. Sales Terminal is for decreasing Quantity in Stock. How about a Quantity-neutral way to deal with a batch of issues? Suppose I have a stack of comics to change my pricing on? Or bulk modify the Notes? Or change a check mark?
  25. New user with my Zappy Zap... wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something before I suggested adding a feature that already existed.
