Tyrone Leake Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 I just did an upgrade and lost 7000 dollars on my collection and many comics not recognized in the upgrade. Is this a data problem? HELP.
Steven L. Dasinger Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 The folks a Human Computing changed the way they calculated the price on Low/High cost 'slabbed' books to get them in a more realistic valuation with CB 2025. If you don't have any 'slabbed' comics, the amount may change as various comics have their value adjusted (you can see this with the Top Gainer/Loser report after an update. As for the 'not recognized' in the update, can you give some examples?
Tyrone Leake Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 I wish I would’ve done a screen shot when it was upgraded but it was several CGC comics and other. Is there anyway I can go back and get that list without undoing the upgrade? Thanks for your reply by the way
Steven L. Dasinger Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 The only way I can think of doing it is to install CB 2024 and open backup (that was made by CB 2024).
Tyrone Leake Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 I'll try. Thinking about just selling all of them anyway (comic book boys) popped up in an ad. Getting to old for this. Lol.
Tyrone Leake Posted October 12, 2024 Author Posted October 12, 2024 Figured it out. Some of my Windstorm comics read 0 dollars, don’t know why and all my CGC comics lost over 6000 value in this program. That’s a lot of money from last update to this one.

That’s a lot of money from last update to this one. Prior to ComicBase 2025, the program was not handling valuations of slabbed comics very well. That formula has been updated and has been shown to more accurately match actual realized sale prices for specific slabbed comics as compared to the old formula. Pete talks about this in a couple of the Livestream videos, but a good one to check out would be this one.
Tyrone Leake Posted October 13, 2024 Author Posted October 13, 2024 Good video but seems like they are throwing CGC under the bus basically. I understand where he’s coming from and ir will save people a lot of money in the long run if they do not want to grade but who does slab or unslab benefit. I know they will keep adjusting but this app and amount I pay does not benefit me and my CGC collection. Sad to say because I like the software.
