Yes. The exact same for both.

There's a new build for CB2024 that should address the problem. Download/install it and let us know how you make out with it.
I just updated to 4K Archive Edition v24.0.0.1165 and tried again, but I am still getting the same result.

I'm trying to replace an existing cover with a slightly larger and cleaner version, but every time I add it it automatically re-downloads the old version. Any idea why this might be happening? I am currently running the current build of the 4K Archive Edition.

In the last livestream Pete mentioned that an update to the Mobile App is in the works. Do you have an ETA on that?

I definitely only have one database and I haven't created any new ones. I checked both spots you pointed out and only one database appears. I'll let you know if it happens again, but I can't see any reason why empty databases are getting created.
For what it's worth, each time an empty database turns up the unique identifier has been composed entirely of zeroes.

This has happened to me a few times now. I was given the same advice in this thread and it cleared the issue up, but then last weekend another empty database showed up under My Comics.
Do you know of any reason why this could keep happening?
-
Thank you! I was just looking in the wrong spot!

I've run into an odd situation. When I open up the mobile app to run a search it says there are no saved reports. I checked the database and there are two identically named databases. When I switch over to the other one of the same name all my content is there.
Thinking I had two databases setup I checked my settings in sidekick, but I only have one database listed in there. I then logged into the ComicBase website to check My Comics, and sure enough there are two identically named databases in there as well. I thought I'd be able to remove the empty database from there but there is no option to do so.
Any ideas? I am using the 4K Archive Edition, v24.0.0.941

I know there's a thread for this over in the ComicBase Mobile forum, but it doesn't seem to be getting much attention so I thought I'd mention it here too.
With so many items being moved from the Comic category over to the Magazine category, it would be really handy to have the ability to search all categories in the Item Lookup of the Mobile App. Right now the only way (that I know of) to search for items under the magazine or book categories is to view a report.
The only other method I can think of would be to create a separate database for each category and then switch databases to do the search, but I for one would prefer to have everything I own sitting in the same database.
Thanks for considering!

I have changed the schedule to when I'm not gaming, but I really don't like leaving my computer running all the time. If I miss the backup window because my computer is off it resets too 11:00 PM. Is there any way to avoid this scenario?
Also, I did update the software right after my initial post.
Thanks.

I've recently run into a problem with automatic backups. I have been playing a new game on my PC and when "Save to Cloud" starts running my game just becomes unplayable.
I changed the schedule so that backups happen in the morning so it doesn't interfere with my gameplay at night, but if my PC isn't turned on at the time the backup is scheduled it reverts back to the original schedule of 11:00 pm. This also happens to the other items on the schedule that I have activated (updates and compacting).
Is there a way that I can stop it for reverting back to 11:00 PM?
I am currently running v23.2.2.2814.
My PC specs:
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz 3.70 GHz
Installed RAM 32.0 GB
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processorGPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX2080
Edition Windows 11 Home
Version 22H2
Installed on 2022-10-01
OS build 22621.1702

Yep, and this is the key thing that Fred was talking about. You can only see the new cover after you finish entering your comics and display them after saving. It would be very useful if you could see the newly downloaded cover from the Add by Barcode window.
33 minutes ago, Steven L. Dasinger said:PS: If you had scanned the issue in one time (when it is not displayed in Add By Barcode), if you had 'Display Items After Saving' checked, when you click save, the result display WILL show the newly downloaded cover.
You are correct. That was my experience this evening, although I may not have explained it clearly enough in my post.

I just wanted to follow-up on something that was covered during the last Livestream.
Fred mentioned that he'd like to see auto downloading of new covers when entering by barcode and Pete told us that as long as "Automatically download larger pictures when viewing items" was checked under preferences that it should work. Well, I made sure to update my preferences and I just finished entering a batch of new comics and I can tell you that it still does not seem to work.
I scanned in Batman #133 and despite interacting with the entry several different ways from the "Add by Barcode" window, the cover image wouldn't display. I just got the (outdated) DC logo as the cover image thumbnail.
However, as soon as I closed the Add by Barcode window and all the items I had just scanned were displayed, the cover image for Batman 133 showed up.
-
No problem. I just deleted all issues of #2 and forced an update and it's all good. I also had to delete the cover images and re-download them so they were the correct images though.
-
I was wondering about that. I wasn't sure how the update process worked or whether it could simply change the variation instead of deleting it.
-
I've noticed that after updating for the last little while now "Junkyard Joe 2" shows up under my Unrecognized Items. I'm going to assume that this is because it should actually be 2/A, and the issue listed as 2/A should be 2/B, 2/B should be 2/C and so on.
Is there a reason why updates aren't making the changes to the correct variation?
-
Will do. Thanks.

So, any ideas what might be happening?

Also to add, the auto generated report for magazines displays all the cover images correctly, and so does the one for comic books. I also just tried manually saving a collection report for my comics to the web and all the cover images are showing up. It seems like there might be something a little wonky with books.
-
Sorry, I guess I just assumed this process was a given. I'm not having a problem with reports being generated and saved to the cloud, it's the end result that seems to be a problem. I can see all my reports on both the web and the mobile app just fine, it's just that certain cover images won't display when I view my report on books. The reports look the same on the mobile app and the web.
Also of note is that when I generate the same collection report on books manually and use the "Save to Web" function I don't see any covers at all.
-
There really aren't any steps. I just go online to check reports under "My Comics" and view "Collection Report-Books (Auto)". Cover images have been appearing and then disappearing from report to report. It was solved for a while when I was working with support, but after it was sorted out the first time cover images disappeared again a week or two later. It's very strange.
It's not a huge issue, but it would be nice to have the cover images when I'm using the report to see which books I have when I'm out browsing the used book stores.
-
I've gone back and forth with support on this issue quite a bit, to the point where I'm starting to feel like I am harassing them, so I wanted to address the issue here.
I've noticed that when I look at my auto-generated report for books, cover images that appeared one week aren't there the next. In particular I have been having a lot of problems with The Destroyer (Pinnacle). Cover images disappeared on one report a while back, so I contacted support and they reappeared on the next report, but now they're gone again. As far as I can tell nothing has changed about the series, and all of the cover images show up on Atomic Avenue. I also checked the latest unrecognized items log file of and they aren't listed.
This has happened for a few other titles too. Should I just try resubmitting the covers for books whose cover images are not showing up in reports?
-
I like this idea. I collect many series which are set in a larger universe. It would be a great way to find all the books set in one of these Universes, particularly if you don't own all the books and want to know what you're missing.
Can't update cover image

As of my post yesterday it was still the smaller image, but I just checked this morning and it looks like a larger image became available on your end. When I checked the picture folder I found a new image larger than the one I had been trying to add.
So problem solved I guess. At least until it happens again.
