  1. After you run a content update on your database, there is a link on your pop-up window (the same one that reports collection value) for seeing items that are in your database but which were not recognized during the update. If the content of your database is already up to date, you can "force" the update by holding down the shift key while selecting the "Check for updates" menu item.
  2. Just now I was able to get my database to check for updates without requesting login credentials. It also appears that the AA website is back up. So presumably things are normal again.
  3. Today when I ask ComicBase to check for updates, it asks for a login and is unable to do so (an error eventually comes up saying that "a task has been cancelled"). Also, the Atomic Avenue site is unreachable (according to this post, it has been that way since yesterday). Are these issues related? Any estimates as to when things will return to normal?
  4. Several weeks ago I submitted issues of On Tap, The Malt Advocate, and The Wine Advocate to the database. All of the issues that I submitted were accepted, but the contents inside the title description field for some reason were not. The following Title Description information should be added for these titles: On Tap: title changes to The Malt Advocate as of vol. 3 #1 The Malt Advocate: was formerly On Tap; becomes the Whisky Advocate in 2011 The Wine Advocate: was formerly The Baltimore-Washington Wine Advocate; becomes a digital-only publication in 2013
  5. The database lists Star Trek: The Next Generation Annual #1 (2nd print) and Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Gift. These are the same item, so one of the listings needs to be deleted.
  6. Thanks for this post, IMO this has been a source of confusion! Not only that, but HC made TPB the *default* format, so the ambiguous format ends up being used the most often, regardless as to whether it is the correct format.
  7. That's a lot of Lego! Bet you could build something really cool with 49,003,621 Lego pieces!
  8. If you have a copy of Fantastic Four #1 in your collection and then you add a second copy of FF #1, that will change your count of total issues but NOT your count of unique issues (you already had a copy of FF #1 before you acquired the second copy). So I think that your problem really is that at least one issue in your collection has an unusual number entered into the Quantity In Stock field. To find the issues with an excess quantity, do the following: Go to any Comic Book title (not a Book or Magazine title). Click on "Find" and select "Other" You should now have a small pop-up window. Use the "Find" pull-down menu to select "Item Fields" and then select "Qty In Stock" After you do that, you should be able to select the "is greater than" option. Type 1 in the text box, then click the "Find" button in the lower right corner.
  9. The title William Stout: Hallucinations includes a listing for TPB/LE. The Notes field for that item says "signed & numbered hardcover edition." I can confirm that this item is indeed a hardcover, so this particular item should be changed to HC/LE. (The listing for the regular TPB is fine and should remain unchanged.)
  10. Have you checked to see if any of your comics has an unusual quantity in stock? For example, if you have ever accidentally entered a UPC code into the issue quantity field, you might get a result like this. (not that such has ever happened to me, of course 😉 )
  11. The database title Namor the Sub-Mariner by John Bryne & Jae Lee Omnibus should be changed to Namor the Sub-Mariner by John Byrne & Jae Lee Omnibus.
  12. The database lists the title How to Read Comics the Marvel Way. I know that this title was at the very least heavily delayed due to the mess that the pandemic made of Marvel's publishing plans for 2020, but I am pretty sure that this title was actually canceled. Was it ever re-solicited? If not, then I think that this title should be deleted from the database.
  13. The Golden Age Doctor Fate Archives lists an issue #1 and an issue #1-HC. The regular issue #1 is a duplication of the correctly listed #1-HC. Regular issue #1 should be deleted.
  14. The listing for The First Kingdom (Titan) designates the first four issues as hardcover, but does not do so for issues #5 and #6. Those were also hardcover, so #5 should be changed to #5-HC and #6 should be changed to #6-HC.
  15. As best as I can tell, there are two different editions of this book. The first version came out in 2004 and the second came out in 2011. Both are hardcover, but according to Amazon the 2011 edition includes a few things that were painted after the 2004 edition was produced. I have the 2004 edition, and its dustjacket does not match the scan that is in the CB database. (The database is showing the 2011 version.) I assume that the way for this to be handled is for HC (2nd print) to be created and the existing scan be re-named accordingly. Once that is done, I can submit a scan of the 2004 edition. There is also apparently a limited edition of the 2011 printing, but there does not seem to be a corresponding limited edition of the 2004 printing as far as I can tell.
  16. The database lists three items under the title Drawing Down the Moon: The Art of Charles Vess: HC #0 HC #2 HC #4 These all appear to be the same thing. HC #2 and HC #4 should be deleted. HC #0 should be converted to HC. There is also a trade paperback version of this book listed as a separate title Drawing Down the Moon. AFAIK there isn't anything different about this book except that it is in tpb format rather than hc. I suggest that the tpb listed under Drawing Down the Moon be moved to the Drawing Down the Moon: The Art of Charles Vess title.
  17. This title is present in the database as a comic and as a book. This item is definitely a comic, so the title listed as a book needs to be deleted.
  18. Final Night Book #1 (2nd print) is listed with a cover date of 7/1/1998. This cover date field should be cleared since the second print was published in 2021 (only the first printing was published in 1998).
  19. Some of the issues listed under the Swords of Cerebus title have cover dates of 1/1/1970, a date that cannot possibly be correct since these issues were all printed in the 1980s. The following issues should have their cover dates deleted: #4 (1st print) #5 (1st print) #6 (1st print)
  20. The various "100 Project" publications are essentially all art books rather than comics. A couple of these are listed in the database as Books, but most are still in the Comics category. The following should be moved from Comics to Books: The Batman 100 Project The Fantastic Four 100 Project The Hulk 100 Project Justice League of America 100 Project The New Avengers 100 Project The Ultimate Spider-Man 100 Project The Uncanny X-Men 100 Project The Walking Dead 100 Project Wolverine: The Weapon X 100 Project The Wonder Woman 100 Project
  21. This week's update added The Essential Conan to Books. To avoid confusion with Essential Conan that is already listed in Comics, I would like to suggest that the title be changed to The Essential Conan (SFBC). Also listed as a new book is Batman: The Killing Joke (Titan). If this is a reprint of Batman: The Killing Joke rather than a novelization, then it belongs in Comics, not Books.
  22. Don't know if this would be the source of your error, but note that the Systems Requirements for the current version of ComicBase Pro indicate that the supported operating systems are Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later. (Click on "Technical Details" on this page.)
  23. The lenticular? No, that was the only variant that didn't have a picture on the cerebusoverload store. It exists since it was listed for purchase on the store site, but they don't have an image for it.
  24. <nag> Any updates on the supplement book yet? </nag>
