Alan Stewart
I updated my annual subscription and upgraded to ComicBase Professional 2024 in February. Somehow I ended up with more than one copy (or at least more than one serial number) of the 2024 program, only one of which is showing as being up to date (S/N 80065). I have been unable to download content updates since Feb, Today I tried deleting the version I'd installed, then reinstalling from the one the registration page says is current, but now I can't install the program -- getting this error message after the installer runs: Source file not found: C:\Users\Alan Stewart\AppData\Roaming\Human Computing\ComicBase 2024 Professional Edition 24.1.0.1212\install\ComicBase 2024 Professional Edition Setup1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. Help, please! Thanks, Alan Stewart
Mark J. Castaneda
Install CB2024 Professional then launch it. Go the Help Menu>About ComicBase - click the Edit Registration button and enter in the other serial number ending in 80065 you got registered. The next time you start up the software should recognize the proper expiration date.
Alan Stewart
Mark, that might have worked while I still had a working copy of 2024 Pro. But, as I said in the OG post, I deleted the version I'd originally installed, and now it won't let me reinstall. When I try to do so, the Installer runs and then ends by giving me the error message I shared. The only working version of CB I can currently run is 2022, and it won't let me change the registration number using the procedure you outlined. So, still no go. Steven L. Dasinger
Since I am not sure exactly what you have done, try this: Go to Windows Settings, Apps, Installed Apps Uninstall any/all Comicbase apps. (there should only be two: the Edition you have and the Resources install). Go to Users\<logon-id>\AppData\Roaming\Human Computing\ComicBase 2024 Professional Edition 24.1.0.1212 folder Then either install your 2024 downloaded installer or download it from the Comicbase site in your My Account->Registrations page. Hopefully this will work. If not you may need to call support.
Alan Stewart
I uninstalled all instances of the ComicBase program on my PC, deleted the earlier installer, downloaded a new copy of the installer, ran it, and got the same error message: Source file not found: C:\Users\Alan Stewart\AppData\Roaming\Human Computing\ComicBase 2024 Professional Edition 24.1.0.1212\install\ComicBase 2024 Professional Edition Setup1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it. I don't appear to have a ComicBase 2024 Professional Edition 24.1.0.1212 folder on my PC. May be best to give our lead programmer Pete a call, looks like you got something deeper going on with your computer preventing installation. 408-266-6883 ext
Alan Stewart
Thanks -- I'm about to go out of town for a week but will consult with Pete when I get back.
Mark J. Castaneda
also, if you have any protection software (ex: Avast, AVG, Norton, MacAfee, etc.) installed, it may be interfering. Consider turn it off temporarily (10 min) and retry CB installation.
