  1. I encountered this error message and clicked "yes" to fix it. The software then updated every list and removed every date entry from my database - every date entry. It also removed every bit of data contained in one of the custom fields I use. The latter wasn't a date, but text identifying the location of the issue in my collection (Box001, Box002, Box003, etc.) I couldn't find any way to undo the changes, so resorted to deleting the database and opening the last backup version I had prior to receiving the error message. Had to reenter all the data I had put in over 48 hours or so, which was frustrating. The error hasn't reappeared since.
  2. Uploaded the title, issue and cover image today - thanks again for the help.
  3. Here's another title I can't find under Magazines, only in Comic Books. Based on its content, this looks like another title that should be moved under Magazines. r/ Mike
  4. I can't bring this title up in the Magazine category, only in the Comic Books category. Based on its content, it seems like Magazine would be a better fit. r/ Mike
  5. This issue has an image of its back cover. I submitted a copy of the front cover, but the system response to my download was only the standard "thank you" window, without asking if I wanted to upload the cover image I have. Here's a copy: r/ Mike
  6. I've searched the db using a variety of names, but don't see this title. Its title is "Let's Read The Newspaper" and was published by King Features and printed by Charlton Press. Before I enter it as a new record, I just want to check with you to find out if it's perhaps listed by something other than its name. r/ Mike
  7. My signed copy has a numbered COA contained in the shrink wrap with the book, one of 9500 signed copies, if memory serves correctly.
  8. I have both a signed copy and an unsigned copy, so I'd say it's a variant.
  9. The cover image for Batman #500 should be removed and replaced with the correct image. The correct image has Batman swinging on his batrope and also has the three autographs on the cover. r/ Mike
  10. I can't get Hero Illustrated to show up in the magazine view, only in the Comic Books view. Is this just me? This seems like a title that should have been reclassified into the Magazine view. r/ Mike
  11. Issue listed as #3/I ("Bucks Exclusive Cover") has the cover to the Bucks Exclusive variant issue #1. This variant wasn't showing, so I created it. I didn't rename the existing #3 variant using the cover because I don't know if there is a Bucks Exclusive variant for issue #3, but I did copy the cover image and rename the copy for the variant issue I created. r/ Mike
  12. I think that makes sense, Mark; it matches up with the header card, which seems to be the only common name for all of the issues. r/ Mike
  13. The Grand Comics Database lists them here: https://www.comics.org/series/26711/ You might consider using the issue numbering as recorded in the GCD. It's basically the year of distribution, followed by a dash and then a sequential number for each issue. r/ Mike
  14. Will do. As of this morning, build 3162 has become the version available (replacing 3157), so I installed that. I'll follow up with status as to how this affects the issue I described. Thanks, Mike
  15. I'm wondering if this is just me, or if others are experiencing this... For the past week or so, everytime I upload new or corrected information and am also uploading a cover image, I get an remote server error (426) telling me that the connection closed and the transfer was aborted while sending data. If I try a repeat upload, sometimes I get the same error and sometimes I don't. r/ Mike
  16. The database has the cover for issue #2 displayed as #1. I've submitted a correct copy of #1.
  17. This issue is really messed up, title-wise. It's not a reprint of Green Lantern (4th Series) issue #30. It contains a reprint of the story in that issue, but also contains a lot of pages of new material that was not in issue #30. The indicia for this issue is: "FCBD 2011 Green Lantern Flashpoint Special Edition 1." None of that was included in the renaming of this issue for the database. The Notes include an incorrect statement of what the indicia says, so searching using the Notes field was fruitless. I know the rule of using the indicia is frequently ignored, but this time I think it went too far. r/ Mike
  18. I think this hardcover has been re-published more than once since 2003. I have a 2018 version w/ Wonder Woman on the front cover (instead of Superman) and Catwoman on the back cover. Should I enter this as HC-2? r/ Mike
  19. Kurt, I'm not sure about importing from a spreadsheet, but I suspect that might now be possible. I'll defer to someone knowledgeable about the inner workings to answer that. Regarding your second question, I think you can use the View button at the top of the screen to change the view to only the listings that you have. Select View>Items to Show>Owned Items. In earlier versions of CB you could delete unowned items from your database, but with 2020 I think you can only remove them from your view. I hope this helps. r/ Mike
  20. Unless there's a substantial difference in value, I leave mine as Regular.
  21. Glad I could help. Be advised that the CB office is closed until 1/2/2020, so you might not get an answer if you call before then. r/ Mike
  22. Hello Mark, Once you've installed the program, you can select a title, which will open its list of issues, then you can click the cursor in the far left column, which will highlight the row, and hitting the <enter> key will open a window with the issue details, into which you can enter such issue-specific information as you desire. The first item you'll see is the Quantity (that's where the cursor starts). You would overwrite the 0 by typing the quantity you have of that issue - probably 1 in most instances. There are alternative methods to insert your data, but I think this is the best way to start. This way lets you see all the issue details. In the beginning, you'll want to use the "all titles" feature when you search for a title. Once you've populated the database, using the "Titles in Stock" filter will show you only the titles for which you have at least one issue. I hope this helps you get started. Good luck and have fun.
