The Golden Age Doctor Fate Archives lists an issue #1 and an issue #1-HC. The regular issue #1 is a duplication of the correctly listed #1-HC. Regular issue #1 should be deleted.
-
The listing for The First Kingdom (Titan) designates the first four issues as hardcover, but does not do so for issues #5 and #6. Those were also hardcover, so #5 should be changed to #5-HC and #6 should be changed to #6-HC.

As best as I can tell, there are two different editions of this book. The first version came out in 2004 and the second came out in 2011. Both are hardcover, but according to Amazon the 2011 edition includes a few things that were painted after the 2004 edition was produced. I have the 2004 edition, and its dustjacket does not match the scan that is in the CB database. (The database is showing the 2011 version.) I assume that the way for this to be handled is for HC (2nd print) to be created and the existing scan be re-named accordingly. Once that is done, I can submit a scan of the 2004 edition. There is also apparently a limited edition of the 2011 printing, but there does not seem to be a corresponding limited edition of the 2004 printing as far as I can tell.

The database lists three items under the title Drawing Down the Moon: The Art of Charles Vess: HC #0 HC #2 HC #4 These all appear to be the same thing. HC #2 and HC #4 should be deleted. HC #0 should be converted to HC. There is also a trade paperback version of this book listed as a separate title Drawing Down the Moon. AFAIK there isn't anything different about this book except that it is in tpb format rather than hc. I suggest that the tpb listed under Drawing Down the Moon be moved to the Drawing Down the Moon: The Art of Charles Vess title.

Final Night Book #1 (2nd print) is listed with a cover date of 7/1/1998. This cover date field should be cleared since the second print was published in 2021 (only the first printing was published in 1998).

Some of the issues listed under the Swords of Cerebus title have cover dates of 1/1/1970, a date that cannot possibly be correct since these issues were all printed in the 1980s. The following issues should have their cover dates deleted: #4 (1st print) #5 (1st print) #6 (1st print)

The various "100 Project" publications are essentially all art books rather than comics. A couple of these are listed in the database as Books, but most are still in the Comics category. The following should be moved from Comics to Books: The Batman 100 Project The Fantastic Four 100 Project The Hulk 100 Project Justice League of America 100 Project The New Avengers 100 Project The Ultimate Spider-Man 100 Project The Uncanny X-Men 100 Project The Walking Dead 100 Project Wolverine: The Weapon X 100 Project The Wonder Woman 100 Project

This week's update added The Essential Conan to Books. To avoid confusion with Essential Conan that is already listed in Comics, I would like to suggest that the title be changed to The Essential Conan (SFBC). Also listed as a new book is Batman: The Killing Joke (Titan). If this is a reprint of Batman: The Killing Joke rather than a novelization, then it belongs in Comics, not Books.

CB2021 - installation/start up trouble
Gregory Hecht replied to Mark J. Castaneda's topic in Tech Support
Don't know if this would be the source of your error, but note that the Systems Requirements for the current version of ComicBase Pro indicate that the supported operating systems are Windows 8, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 or later. (Click on "Technical Details" on this page.) -
Spawn #10 Kickstarter products

The lenticular? No, that was the only variant that didn't have a picture on the cerebusoverload store. It exists since it was listed for purchase on the store site, but they don't have an image for it. -

Clean-up for 4/29/2021 update

I'm not sure, but Michael indicates that he has both issues. (I only have what is currently listed in the database as #2. It is as he describes, I think a case can be made either way for it to be in the Books category or the Comics category. It is a stapled promotional item.) The second was published by Dark Horse and distributed by Capital City as a promotional insert in their Advance Comics catalog. I am not able to find the first issue on the comics.org, mycomicshop, or Mile High sites. Based on the cover scan for #1, it obviously exists and was also distributed by Capital City. The note fields for these say that the first one came out in 1992 and the second came out in 1993. I can confirm the 1993 date on the second one. If Michael can confirm that the contents of both issues are the same and that the first issue bears a 1992 date, then I think that this should be a "first print, second print" kind of thing. If the date in the indicia of the first one is 1993, then it should probably be treated as a "variant A/variant B" kind of thing. -

Should this even be a book in the first place? What was the rationale for moving it out of the Comics category? -
If you are asking whether you can update the contents of the collection reports on the CB mobile app without using the cloud, then no, I don't think so. The mobile app doesn't actually contain a copy of your database. As I understand it, the mobile app retrieves information from your Comicbase reports and displays those on your phone. The mobile app is way to view data, it isn't actually a database manipulation program. You can add items to your collection via the mobile app, but they aren't actually entered into your database until you open up the ComicBase software and use the "Check for sales and purchases" function. For that sequence of steps to work, the mobile app and your Comicbase software will need to access the cloud.

Is that a typo or are you actually using Comicbase 10? -

Since there is already a Monsters title in the database, it sounds like this should really be Monsters (Fantagraphics). -
This week's update added Monsters (Barry Windsor Smith) as a book. Is this a book or a graphic novel? I thought that it was a graphic novel and should therefore be in the Comics category, but my copy won't arrive for a couple of weeks yet so I can't verify firsthand. Also, should this really be titled Monsters (Barry Windsor Smith's...) ? Again, I don't have my copy yet so I can't check the indicia. In its current form, the title is using the convention that the database uses to imply that Barry Windsor Smith is the publisher (rather than the author). If the indicia just reads Monsters without any reference to Smith by name, then perhaps the title should be Monsters (Fantagraphics). Every week the master database update report lists "Changed Comic Book Titles" and it seems like some titles end up in that part of the list every week. For example, Atom-Age Combat (1st series) seems to show up in there all of the time, week in and week out. This has been going on for what seems like many months. I think that some titles also exhibit this behavior, but I know for sure that this one has. What the hell is going on with this title that it winds up changing every week?

I think that v2.0.4 exists only on iOS because it addresses an issue that existed only in the iOS version of the app.
-
This issue seems to have gone away with no changes at my end. I'm guessing that this may have been the result of a server issue at HC's end?
-
I downloaded the new version of the mobile app v2.0.4. When I go Find Item and start typing in a title (e.g., Dark Horse Presents) I get a list of titles that show up that contain that search string. When I tap on one of them, the box for that title is highlighted but then the app freezes. I am not able to get to the screen with the scroll list of existing issues, nor am I able to go back and edit what I put into the text input box. I am on an iPhone XS Max running iOS 14.4.2

While you're at it, these can also be moved to Books: The Marvel Art of Savage Sword of Conan The Marvel Art of Skottie Young The Marvel Art of Star Wars
-
Haunt of Horror (Digest) should be moved from Comics to Magazines. This title contained prose and some illustrations, but no comics.
-
I think that he is asking for a new media type of "other" so that his database can track things other than comics, books, or magazines.
