Firefly: Sting is not the correct title. The actual title is Firefly: The Sting.

2020 Psychic typing in find isn't working
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Geoffrey B. Scobel's topic in Tech Support
I may have typed too soon... The test Title I was using seemed to bring up suggestions. However, a closer examination reveals some weird behavior. Here is what I had to do to (apparently) fix it. click the Find drop-down box (to the right of the input box, and select Title Name or Barcode. (Yes, it appears it is already checked but select it anyway. After I did this, it started working as I expect. For some unknown reason, the initial display is acting (for me) as if Storylines was selected. -
2020 Psychic typing in find isn't working
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Geoffrey B. Scobel's topic in Tech Support
Just passing on information. I just downloaded and installed 20.0.01.2764 and the psychic typing in the Find box is working for me. Doesn't really help you but at least it isn't a common bug that is affecting everyone. -

Issues with Covers in ComicBase 2020 Pro
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Brett Carroll's topic in Tech Support
Brett, ComicBase 2020 Pro Edition does not come with the ability to download covers (that is in the Archive Edition). However, it should not get an error message as you describe. Also, even with the Archive Edition, downloaded covers can and do have watermarks. You can add your own covers. You just have to name them to match the Item #. Basically leave any Alpha-Numeric and replace any other characters with a dash. 1 would be 1.jpg Bk 1/B would be Bk 1-B.jpg After naming you can drag drop them over the Grid area for a Title to add them. -
No, you are doing nothing wrong. This process was changed in CB 2020 to just add issues and not merge them.

Deleting Incorrect Covers
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Manuel J. Galceran's topic in Content and Corrections
I am not sure I follow you but... If you mean clicking on the large Cover in the top right corner, you can still do this. Right-click and select Show Picture File and windows explorer window will open with all the *.jpg files for that Title in it. At that point, just select what you want to delete and delete them as you would in Windows.. -
The Item Checklists report is the only one I see that has the List Only Wanted Items check box. With that checked, you can: Under Titles to Print, click on Selected Titles, then the Choose button. in the next window, make sure All Titles is checked (at the top). Then scroll up to the top of the list and click on the first Title, then scroll down to the bottom, Press and hold the Shift key and click on the last Title. (the should all be high-lighted). Then click OK. At this point you should have x number chosen (currently mine has 58,284) and the report will generated any Wanted items from this list.

Comicbase 2020 How to quick change?
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Brad Snurr's topic in Tech Support
Select the Issues by clicking on the left most column. Once the Issues are all high-lighted, right-click and select Quick Change from the pop-up menu. Select Quantity in Stock for the item to change and enter 1. -
psychic typing not working anymore
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Brian J. Stewart's topic in Tech Support
I can't quite follow the problem. Per the two attached images, it looks like it is working (I get the same list as show when I type the displayed text). One thing to try is run Rebuild Lists for Series Information (for the specific problem you are having). For some information, I have noticed that just making a change doesn't mean it is available for Find. It is like the database information is scanned to make the Find information and the Find information is 'static' (meaning the database info can change but doesn't automatically update the find information). Running Rebuild Lists seems to refresh the find information. -
Approximately what size do you create cover scans (normal sized comic) for a 4K Monitor?

I don't see the cover listed at other sites.)

The colors are controlled by Windows. You can try using different Themes (under Menu item File). Some do a better job of high-lighting than others.

Insert Fields in Advanced Find
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Fred Slota's topic in Feature Suggestions
Just to be clear, you mean when a new Fields is selected you what that Field to be added at the cursor position instead of just adding to the end of already entered items (for the Where and Order By boxes)? -
profile picture for the new user community
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Michael R. Wagner's topic in Tech Support
Michael, the question wasn't the image size (222x240) but the DPI (dots per inch). You can find this in Windows by Right-Clicking on the file and selecting Properties. The clicking on the Details tab. This is a guess, but the dpi may be part of the problem. -
Go to the Comic Books Title that was 'duplicated' in its now correct location in Magazines or Books. You can use Menu item Edit->Change Media Type. Select the Media you want to move it to. It will tell you that Title exists and do you want to move the Issues to it. Yes, you do. However, this will DUPLICATE the Issues in the correct location for all the Issues you own. You can delete the Duplicate you DON'T own to keep information. NOTE: This change of Media type was NOT done during the conversion from CB 2017 to CB 2020. All your Comic Titles would have just been converted to Comic Titles in CB 2020. The first Update you run WILL have created the new Books and Magazines and Deleted all the corresponding Comic Books Titles/Issues EXCEPT where you owned Issues. It would have left the Titles and any Issues you owned. This is how the Update normally works (not deleting any Issues you own). I am guessing that changing that process to Move existing Titles and all Issues (including ones you own) would have required a complete rewrite of the Update process. I agree with you that it was a pain to identify which Titles needed to have their Media Type chanced but after that, the process wasn't too bad (at least for me). I used a tool outside CB to identify the duplicate Titles in the different Media (copied out a list of Titles I owned from Comic Books and compared it to a list of Books / Magazines).

Michael, what is the dpi of your image? If large, it may be causing you a problem. -
How do I tell the size of a cover image?
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Kaleb Swenson's topic in Tech Support
It is what you would probably expect. If there is a cover scan that is 564 x 800, Picture Width would have 564 and Picture Height would have 800. You might want to use File Tools, Rebuild Lists with the Advanced option Pictures File List (slow) checked as it might update info for those columns. -
How do I tell the size of a cover image?
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Kaleb Swenson's topic in Tech Support
Once possible suggestion. If you click on the cover image and on the program (accidentally), you could open the picture but make the program the top displayed item. The picture would be behind the program. If you shrink the program, you might see the picture. If you left-click on the cover (the red circled item), it should display a larger cover (black circled item). If it is not, then there is something wrong, somewhere. -
If you mean the original forum, click on the Forum Archive tab at the top. It is found here: http://forums.atomicavenue.com I guess in this would be under: News & General Discussion

How do I tell the size of a cover image?
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Kaleb Swenson's topic in Tech Support
To display the cover at its larger size, you need to click on the cover on the Issue row. (and possible click on the larger image to close it.) -
To find the Database ID of your current database: Press F12 (or use Menu item File->Collection statistics. When the window displays, click on the item below the Renew Now button (looks like a stack with an i in a circle). If you hover your mouse over it, it displays the text Database info. The Database ID is the fifth line.

All you have to do is drag the cover scan (with the correct naming) to the grid area for that Title and it will create the appropriate picture folder for you.
