  1. For changes to Title name (and/or Publisher and/or issue number), you do need to let HC know (as you did here). Otherwise, they will just look like a new Title (or issue) submission and the one it is supposed to replace will still be in the database (unless it gets caught amidst the thousands of changes being processed (not very likely...)).
  2. If you make the change to the Title description before you submit a correction for an issue in that Title, the information is sent to HC. Whether or not they keep/approve it is another matter. I would test a couple first to see what happens.
  3. I think I did mention to be careful what you put in Item Description. HC is trying to keep tighter control on this column so it doesn't turn into another Notes. I don't know all the parameters related to the column but words like Cover (but not, I think, Covers), Variant, and Edition are the ones I know of. There may be others but whatever doesn't pass the cleanup process gets deleted (not moved anywhere). You can check ahead of time by running Rebuild Lists for Item Information as it is what does the cleanup.
  4. Have you tried opening Notepad and scanning into that? If that does work, try downloading the most current version of CB (b1515, I believe) if you don't already have it.
  5. Going by what MyComicShop has, the following for Image Firsts Walking Dead #1 consists of (by date): Mar 2010 Apr 2011 Dec 2012 Apr 2014 Nov 2015 Per Cover Date in CB, only the first 3 are listed. Only the first one (Mar 2010) is identifiable by the cover. It has a small black stripe along the top and bottom which the others don't.
  6. At this site: https://www.israelidefensecomics.com/author/nvsy6xu3d/ I found: The New Adventures of Shaloman XY should have been #6 in the series but instead, Wiesner explains, “I didn't give it a number. Instead I called it XY, which stands for “Extra Yiddish.” It is a quote from the author.
  7. Original poster indicates that various information was deleted during an update (Storylines, Writer, Artist, etc.). It would look like Attachment 1. He said the information was in a backup but, since he has Express Edition, he couldn't Export (just Import). I supplied a format for the Import. However, when he ran the import with Qty 1 in the file, CB Duplicated the rows instead of adding to them. See Attachment 2 (Red circles the original rows while Blue circles the Imported rows). PS There is still the original question about why the data was deleted in the first place.
  8. In general, Cover Artist is moved to Item Description from the Notes column. That is not to say that some Cover Artists have been left in Notes. It they are, it is due to them being part of a string that doesn't have the keywords CB is looking for to move the information.
  9. I am not sure who manages the forums but I sent Pete a message on Slack about it.
  10. After a few tests, this should work. If you already have items with Qty >1 and you just want to add additional information to those rows, in your file, make Qty In Stock 0 (instead of 1). This will not create a duplicate entry.
  11. Either a Comma or Tab separated file can be imported. I prefer Tab delimited. Attached is a sample export file (Tab delimited) to show what an import file could look like. I included most of the common fields. The only mandatory ones are Title, Item # and Condition to uniquely identify a row. You don't have to use all the fields I supplied. Just the ones you need. And I guess I wasn't very clear. If you could supply one or more Title name / Issue numbers, I could look in my database for those Titles/Issues to see if they also had information deleted. Test File.txt
  12. You need at least Pro to Import and Export. Look under menu item File and see if Import and/or Export is listed there to be sure what Express has. I was more specifically if you had Titles or Titles/Issues where the information vanished (to see what Is in my database as a comparison).
  13. Also... Delete or Rename MMPB 1.jpg to MMPB 1-12.jpg and MMPB 2. to MMPB 2-9.jpg From: Pictures\B\Bantam\Star Trek- The New Voyages (These were 12th and 9th printings, respectively and not 1st printings).
  14. Alternately, Published by Celebrity (Comics), was a 'Traci Lords: The Unauthorized Biography' on 9/1/1992 for 5.95 (both matching the information in CB). It is possible someone left off 'The Authorized Biography (in small print on the cover) and got the Publisher wrong. Either way, instead of deleting it ,changing the Publisher/Title would match this existing comic. (information found at MyComicShop)
  15. Also, what edition of CB (Archive, Pro, Express, Free) and what version (CB 2022, CB 2021, earlier?) do you have? And can you give some examples?
  16. While you are at it, do you happen to have 'Iron Manual'? It also moved from Comic Books to Books.
  17. Delete or Move 1.jpg & 3.jpg From: Pictures\R\Reed & Associates\Tippy Toy To: Pictures\F\Fawcett\Tippy Toy For this one, it is probably best to just Delete and Download the covers for: Cross and the Switchblade, The They were changed to various printings but I have no way to tell what cover goes to what printing. Delete 1.jpg From: Pictures\O\Origin\My Uncle Jeff (Duplicate of 1-2.jpg)
  18. I am having a similar problem. (CB 2022 4K Archive b1490) Barcode scanner method is not working either on the find box at the top of the window or in Add By Barcode. To be more specific: Using Add By Barcode, the actual Barcode is displayed after scanning but the computer beeps and nothing is found. Using the Find box, after scanning, NO barcode appears in the box, the computer beeps (same beep as with Add By Barcode) and nothing happens. However, it scans into the grid or issue entry window without a problem. Additionally, if I copy/paste the barcode in the Find box (taking the scanner out of the equation) and press enter, I get the same beep and nothing happens
  19. There is a new Program Update (1490) that appears to have fixed my variation of the problem. Try installing it and see if it fixed you problem, also.
  20. CB allows you to create Sets of comics and they can be sold on AA. Look under menu Items->Sets. If you have Professional or Archive, then, as Fred suggested, you can take advantage of the 4 Custom text and/or 3 Custom check fields. There is also a 'For Sale' column. If this is checked, when you post to AA, these are the issues that will show up there. You mentioned you would like to keep everything in one place. Otherwise, I would suggest creating a second database. One for issues you want to keep and the other for issues you want to sell. This wasy there is less chance of making a mistake. PS If you have a valid subscription, you can upgrade to CB 2022 for free.
  21. I am not sure if I am getting the same exact problem you are but I have come across a similar problem. Basically, if Automatic Download is set, It will download 1/A pre-lim cover. If I drag/drop the larger 1/A, It will replace the thumbnail image BUT it will NOT replace the actual cover scan in the pictures folder (leaving the pre-lim art) BUT it WILL update the Picture Width column with the larger value. (NOTE: Due to you abnormally long Rebuild Picture information, I think you have either another or additional problems). PS I will try to explain this to Pete...
  22. The last update was on 26 Jan 2022. This information can be found on the ComicBase website on the top right corner in the ComicBase Info box. Pete did mention that a few people were out sick. This may cause the Update to be delayed a bit.
  23. You assumption is correct. Since the cover scan was manually deleted (outside of CB) it has no reason to change the value. I would still contact support and see if they can figure out why your original database isn't updating the Picture Information.
  24. Well, #3 is a pre-lim cover even though it is not obviously marked. Look at the UPC and you see it is all 0's.
  25. The fact that #3 (which in my database has a width of 1578) tends to indicate the Rebuild Picture information did NOT update the values. That seems to be the main problem and one I can't help you with. If you have the time or are interested, you can try this: Use File->New Database... and create another database (just for testing). You don't have to copy anything over when asked. Go to a Title without pictures. (Plunderer one Title back from Plunge works in my database). Run Advanced Find: I.[PictureWidth] IS NOT NULL AND I.Title = 'Plunderer' This should return none of the Issues as the Picture information should not exist. Drag/Drop any cover scan into this Title (with the name matching one of the issues without covers. Run the Advance Find again. What should happen is the one issue for the cover you added should be displayed. At least that is what happened with my database. If this works, that means there is something 'wrong' with you original database. PS You delete the temporary database you created. It is located at: C:\Users\<logon-id>\Documents\Human Computing\ComicBase Databases And the Test Cover Scan you added to the 'Plunderer' Title. PPS You can run the same test on your real database and see if it works as it should (the Issue is found after adding) or not.
