Andrew d’Entremont Posted September 20, 2021 Posted September 20, 2021 Good morning gents. This is a very minor quibble, so if you don't have an answer it's not a big deal at all. I tend to upgrade as you make new versions of CB available and I've noticed that every time I upgrade my taskbar shortcut stops working afterwards. I then have to delete the old shortcut and recreate it. It's a really simple thing to do, but I'm just wondering if there is a way to avoid this during an upgrade. As I said, it is not a big deal at all, but I'm just curious if it's something that can be fixed with some minor tweaking. Thanks!
Mark J. Castaneda Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 you shouldn't have to create the start up shortcut as you install the newer version of the software, the program installer should handle the older icon and replace it with a new icon as part of its installation process. I wonder if you have certain desktop icon settings that's preventing that.
Steven L. Dasinger Posted September 21, 2021 Posted September 21, 2021 Mark, I think what he does is place the shortcut on his Task Bar (for easy access?). Andrew when you add it to the Task bar, how do you do it? Right-click the desktop icon and select 'pin to taskbar'? Or do you go to the executable and pin that to the taskbar? (or some other way?)
Andrew d’Entremont Posted September 21, 2021 Author Posted September 21, 2021 Once I've launched CB and it shows up on the taskbar I just right click on it and select "pin to taskbar". I'll try creating the shortcut by going straight to the executable and pinning it from there to see if it makes a difference during the next upgrade.
Mark J. Castaneda Posted September 22, 2021 Posted September 22, 2021 i understand now... yeah...i have the same problem whenever iTunes releases a new build. You have to manually create new shortcut for the taskbar.
