Clean up for 06/26/2025 content update
Gregory Hecht replied to Gregory Hecht's topic in Content and Corrections
Again, still there, unchanged. -
New Book title: Neal Adams’ Classic DC Artist’s Edition Should that really be indexed as Classic DC Artist’s Edition (Neal Adams'...) ?
-
Well, there are reasons why the "Item Title" field was created. And situations like this is one of them.
-
Back again, back again, jiggity jig. None of the issues from G.I. Joe a Real American Hero #301-318 have the regular cover.

Milk-Bone Superman?
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Thomas Brockmann's topic in Content and Corrections
If Publishers can mess with straightforward database cataloging, they will. I am neither for nor against whatever Title is decided. I merely supply information. -
Jeez, they're not helping. I know the CB editors like to go with the indicia, but sometimes even the indicia contains errors. And I'd call this an error, as the name of the product is clearly "Milk-Bone" and not "Milk & Bone."

Milk-Bone Superman?
Steven L. Dasinger replied to Thomas Brockmann's topic in Content and Corrections
I found this indicia for the issue: Milk & Bone Custom Comic is a strange title as a search for Milk-Bone probably wouldn't find it. -
It's called Superman: A Friendship Unleashed, though I'm not sure what it says in the indicia. If you search for that title on eBay, you'll get quite a few results. It came packaged with Milk-Bone dog biscuits.

Not sure what you're referring to. Is it a comic book? Can you a provide photo of it? -
What is this that pops up with Sidekick
Mark J. Castaneda replied to Robert Dilg's topic in Tech Support
The message typically means the db file is in use by another program/operation. A simple computer restart can solve the problem. If you haven't already, make sure you've installed the latest build for CB2025; there's an updated setup file for it that you can download/install from your online account here: https://www.comicbase.com/mycb/Registrations.aspx Restart your computer afterwards and see if you still have trouble. *contact our support team directly at support@comicbase.com if the problem still occurs. -
It’s 2025! Do you know where your Overstreet Price Guide is?
KENNETH J. FIKE replied to Gregory Hecht's topic in Comics
I have been collecting since the early 1970s, and I still refer to the Overstreet CBP every year. There are new articles and market reports about actual sales verified from each of the over 50? plus stores around the world that report on the Market and what customers/collectors have been searching for. It gives a good indication of the market forecast for the coming year and reflects what the past twelve months previously had sold. It's also still used at conventions as well by several dealers to this day. yes, internet is faster, but, CBP also has an internet publication as well. I have referred to it. The other great thing about this book is the amount of comic and art collectors' vendors to reach out to if you wish to purchase or sell your collection. Believe it or not, even the CBP has also become a collector market as well. I very much feel it's a valuable tool. Still relevant IMO. -
Licence to Kill (Eclipse 1989)

Steven, thanks. Somewhere, I must have downloaded the wrong spelling item and never checked that database download for wrong entries. All clear now. -
Clean up for 07/05/2025 content update
Randall J. Paske replied to Gregory Hecht's topic in Content and Corrections
Also, it looks like there was an effort to move poster books out of the Comics category and into the Books category. Makes sense, except that I can verify that the title 20 Nude Dancers 20 Year One Poster Book consists almost entirely of comics and should be returned to the Comics category. "Poster Book" is a bit of a misnomer in its case, referring mainly to the larger size of the pages. Most if not all of the contents originally saw print in Comics Buyer's Guide when it was in the newspaper format. They are single-page strips--comics--not poster images of the Hulk or whatever. Also, these two titles were added to the Comics category: The Roman Stars The Trust Book One- Silent Scream "The" should come at the end of those titles (Roman Stars, The).- 1 reply

New magazine title CLIJ was added to the database. Based on the cover scans, the title for this does indeed appear to be CLIJ. However, the title description refers to the title twice as CLIP, so that needs to be fixed.

Licence to Kill (Eclipse 1989)
Steven L. Dasinger replied to James H. Dunlop's topic in Content and Corrections
Yes, it looks like it corrected the Title. The Report is a little confusing because it is a one-pass process. By this I mean the update process that added/updated/deleted issues processed and found License to Kill 1 and 'flagged' it in the report. Later in the process it found the misnamed Title and corrected it and also noted it in the report. So the report lists both events even though the second event (Title name change) corrected the first event. It should really be a two-pass process but that would require running the entire Update twice and for most situations, this would be much longer processing time for the few rare occasions this may happen. -
You are correct. Each Type would have its own Import and can not be combined. However, It if did import a Magazine into Comic Books, you can use Edit->Change Series Media Type to move it to Magazine (or whatever type you need). You can edit the Title information to correct the Publisher, also.

Licence to Kill (Eclipse 1989)
James H. Dunlop replied to James H. Dunlop's topic in Content and Corrections
I just updated to the latest content, and got the following Unrecognized Items message: Comic Books Renamed Comic Book Titles License to Kill -> Licence to Kill Unrecognized Comic Books License to Kill 1 ---------------------- Does this mean the update corrected the item? I no longer show the incorrect spelling item. Guessing I screwed up while importing. -
Has this freebie been added yet?

Licence to Kill (Eclipse 1989)
Gregory Hecht replied to James H. Dunlop's topic in Content and Corrections
I'm not finding License to Kill as a title in my database or on AA (the latter reflects the master database). I am finding Licence to Kill in both my database and on AA.
