  1. This is the information I found and sent to Mark on March 10. It is a little long and can be confusing but the most of the Elflord titles need major work to them. ==================== Currently (as of Mar 10) in CB are: 'Elflord' Published by Aircel (1986) Issues 1 - 6 Cover Dates Feb 1986 - Jul 1986 'Elflord (2nd Series)' Published by Aircel (1986-1989) Issues 1 - 31 Cover Dates Oct 1986 - Oct 1989 'Elflord (3rd Series)' Published by Night Wynd (1993) Issues 1 - 4 Cover Dates (not listed) 'Elflord (4th Series)' Published by Night Wynd (1993) Issues 1 - 4 Cover Dates Jan 1997 - Apr 1997 'Elflord (5th Series)' Published by Night Wynd (1993) Issues 1 - 7 Cover Dates Sep 1997 - Apr 1988 (other than Publisher, same as deleted 7th series) 'Elflord (6th Series)' Published by WaRP (1997) Issues 1 - 4 Cover Dates Jan 1997 - Apr 1997 (deleted with the Update) 'Elflord (7th Series)' Published by WaRP (1993) Issues 1 - 7 Cover Dates Sep 1997 - Apr 1998 GCD has the following: 'Elflord' Night Wynd (1980) Issues 1 - 15 Cover Date Jun 1980 - 1982? 'Elflord' Aircel (1986) Issues 1 - 6 Cover Date Mar 1986 - Aug 1986) --Matches 'Elflord' 'Elflord' Aircel (1986) Issues 1 - 22 Cover Date Sep 1986 - Sep 1988 --Matches part of 'Elflord (2nd Series)' 'Elflord' Malibu (1988 ) Issues 23 - 31 Cover Date Oct 1988 - Oct 1989 --Matches the rest of 'Elflord (2nd Series)' (Aircel became a imprint of Malibu but with Aircel logo on all covers) 'Elflord' WaRP (1997) Issues 1 - 4 Cover Date ??? --Matches 'Elflord (6th Series)' 'Elflord' WaRP (1997) Issues 1 - 7 Cover Date ???? --Matches 'Elflord (7th Series)' which was deleted. MyComicShop has the following: 'Elflord (1st Series)' Aircel (1986) Issues 1 - 6 Cover Date Feb 1986 - Jul 1986 --Matches 'Elflord' 'Elflord (2nd Series)' Aircel (1986) Issues 1 - 31 Cover Date Oct 1986 - Apr 1990 --Matches 'Elflord (2nd Series)' 'Elflord Return of the King' Night Wynd (1992) Issues 1 - 4 Cover Date 1992 --Matches 'Elflord (3rd Series)' 'Elflord Summer's Magic' Night Wynd (1993) Issues 1 - 4 Cover Date 1993 --Matches 'Elflord (4th Series)' 'Elflord Dragon's Eye' Night Wynd (1993) Issue 1 Cover Date 1993 --Either not in CB or actual Elflord 5th series. 'Elflord' WaRP (1997) Issues 1 - 4 Cover Date Jan 1997 - Apr 1997 --Matches 'Elflord (6th Series)' 'Elflord Cuts Loose' WaRP (1997) Issues 1 - 7 Cover Date Sep 1997 - Mar 1998 --Matched 'Elflord (7th Series)' which was deleted. (NOTE: for the 3 published by Night Wynd and the last one from WaRP, the mini-series 'name' is on the cover. Don't know if they are the official title or not) Here are what appears to be the complete(?) list. I only called them 'Elflord' as I don't know what the actual titles will be: CB Title (not sure) Publisher Date Range Issue #s Cover dates (not in CB) 'Elflord' Night Wynd (1980-1982) Issues 1-15 from Jun 1980 - ??? 1982 'Elflord' 'Elflord' Aircel (1986) Issues 1-6 from Feb 1986 - Jul 1986 'Elflord (2nd Series)' 'Elflord' Aircel (1986-1989) Issues 1-31 from Oct 1986 - Oct 1989 'Elflord (3rd Series)' 'Elflord' (1) Night Wynd (1992) Issues 1-4 from ??? 1992 - ??? 1992 'Elflord (4th Series)' 'Elflord' (2) Night Wynd (1993) Issues 1-4 from ??? 1993 - ??? 1993 'Elflord (5th Series)' 'Elflord' (3) Night Wynd (1993) Issues 1 from ??? 1993 'Elflord (6th Series)' 'Elflord' WaRP (1997) Issues 1-4 from Jan 1997 - Apr 1997 ''Elflord (7th Series)' 'Elflord' (4) WaRP (1997-1998) Issues 1-7 from Sep 1997 - Mar 1998 (1) MyComicShop lists the Title as 'Elflord Return of the King'. (2) MyComicShop lists the Title as 'Elflord Summer's Magic'. (3) MyComicShop lists the Title as 'Elflord Dragon's Eye'. (4) MyComicShop lists the Title as 'Elflord Cuts Loose'. =============== PS Currently CB has 'Elflord (5th Series)' with 3 issues, I think that #2 and #3 shouldn't be there as the 'Dragon's Eye' was just one issue.
  2. This looks more like a Windows problem. Try this: In the search box on the task bar, type: Folder Options and select File Explorer Options. Click on the View tab. In the list of options in the Advanced Settings box, the 'Always Show Icons, Never Thumbnails' should NOT be checked.
  3. Pete has mentioned in the Live-stream that the plan is to split Newspapers out into their own type. This will probably mean you can choose to not include them in the Updates (and they will be removed from your database).
  4. If are referring to the 'View Unrecognized Items' like on the Content Update window, what that means either the Title was removed (i.e. was added before actual printing but cancelled so it never existed) or the Title and/or Publisher changed, or the Type was changed (i.e. a Comic Book moved to a Book or Magazine). Most likely you are interested in the last two (as you wouldn't have any of the cancelled titles. For these, the information is still in CB just under a different name. For Publisher name changes, if the Title didn't change you will see the 'duplicate' Titles. For a Title name change it can be a little more challenging. Some Titles were deleted because the issues either belonged to another Title or already existed in another Title. These can be little difficult to find. Some Titles are simple typo corrections (for example, the Jun 22 update changed 'Hulking & Wiccan' to 'Hulkling & Wiccan' because the first one was missing the second 'l' in Hulkling). Depending on what changed they may still near each other Some Titles were changed by removing some words that didn't belong in the title. These are a little more difficult to find. try looking for key words in the title to see what can be found. If a Title Type was changed you can try looking in the other Types (but using the Find box at the top of the window, can show you what Type it is in, also). Another way to find some of these is to do a Find using the UPC. You can also look at the ComicBase Update Log look for New Title.

  6. What build of CB do you have? Use menu item Help->About ComicBase. The most current build is 1708. If you don't have that try installing it. There was a problem with barcode scanners that was fixed a few builds ago.
  7. Looks like a variant of 'Symbiote Spider-Man' #1 Jay Anacelto Limited Edition Comix Sketch Variant Limited to 1000. Doesn't look like it is in CB, yet. Since there is not open spot around the Color and Virgin Color variants (1/J and 1/K) I would put it as the next variant (currently 1/V31).
  8. There could be a few problems. 1) The barcode may not be in CB. 2) The barcode in CB may be wrong. 3) Not all of the barcode is being scanned. Going by the length of the supplied barcode ( '761941315812' ) my guess would be #3. I did an Advanced find on UPC with wild cards for '%761941315812%' and returned rows were all for the series 'Batman/Superman' Picking one at random and comparing it to the one you supplied: 761941315812 76194131581200212 NOTE: the supplemental for the last indicates it is Issue #002, variation 1 (regular issue), 2nd printing. It looks like the last 5 digits (the supplement) are not being scanned. You can test this by scanning in to a text editor (like Notes) and comparing it to what is actually printed in the UPC box. If it is not being scanned, there should (probably) be a setting that will allow your scanner to read all of the UPC. If the scanner is one sold by CB, you can call support for help. Otherwise you will need to read the manual and see what command to scan to allow the supplemental to be read.
  9. Correct about Marvel Age. No real comic story content. Mostly articles about characters and current/up-coming issues with illustrations.
  10. I seem to recall one of the interim builds addressed a problem with scanners so hopefully it will be fixed. If you want the most recent builds, you can use menu item Setup->Preferences and check 'Check for interim updates' (see attachment). Then when you Check for Updates you will be asked if you want to install the new build. It is relatively safe to apply the updates and there are rarely any problems.

  12. Not sure this will help or not but it can't hurt to use File->File Tools, Rebuild Lists. Check all but the last one ('Pictures files list (slow)'). Also, what version of CB are you running? The latest interim build is 1708. If you don't have that, I would install it.
  13. I would try again a bit latter. Pete mentioned in the last LiveStream that there will be changes at HC to increase their Internet speed (around the beginning of July). They may be doing some work in preparation and causing the outage. Or they could just be having problems. If the problem persists, you may need to contact support.
  14. ComicBookRealm has it listed as: Notti As Freaky Friday Redhead by Piper Rudich, Nice Cover from Comics Elite. Most of the major sites I check do not have a complete set of the covers.
  15. Going by the description of issue #1 at MyComicShop ( https://www.mycomicshop.com/search?TID=85221 😞 Stan Lee writes of Marvel's 35 years of comic book journeys; article on Marvel Versus DC, with comments from Peter David, Ron Marz and Mark Gruenwald; Dan Jurgens interview; article on the Age of Apocalypse toys; article on Spumco's Comic Book, with comments from John Kricfalusi; Artist Vs. It appears to be a magazine.

  17. I am assuming you mean you want to allow these columns to be displayed. Or do you want them in the Export (and possibly Import?)? The columns I would like to e able to display are the Picture columns (Height, Width, Size, etc.).
  18. Instead of looking under My Comics, look under My Account. Scroll down and there should be a 'Known Databases' section. Use the drop-down box to select the correct database you want to remove, then click 'Remove'.
  19. This has nothing to do with SideKick. In CB using menu item Setup->Preferences... At the bottom, make sure the 'Automatically download larger pictures when viewing items' is not checked. (see attached). (the SideKick options have to do with the Content Updates.)
  20. I would un-check that preference item (i.e. do NOT automatically download...) and see what happens.
  21. What he is referring to is, when you installed the covers, did you use the Qucik Start file (that only has Thumbnail sized covers) or did you intall the complete, full-sized covers. And in Preferences, do you have 'Automatically download larger pictures when viewing items' checked? If you do, un-checking it may fix the download cover problem. Normally, when you drag/drop covers to CB, the Picture information (height, width, size, etc.) gets updated. Assuming you have a larger cover, this should have prevented the program from downloading a different cover when selected. You can sort of check the values in these columns by running an Advanced Find: I.PictureWidth BETEWEEN x AND y or I.PictureHeight BETWEEN x AND y where x and y are values that bracket the cover size. For example, if the cover scan is 505 x 776 I.Title = 'Where Starships Go to Die' AND I.PictureWidth BETWEEN 500 AND 510 or I.Title = 'Where Starships Go to Die' AND I.PictureWidth BETWEEN 770 AND 780 (I added Title to limit it to just the one series) After you add you new cover, you can run this again (using the same values) to see if the values got updated. If it IS updating the picture info, I am not sure why it is downloading a smaller cover. If it is NOT updating, there could be a problem. (unfortunately, you can't view the picture information directly in CB. ----- As for Preliminary Artwork, these are getting into the system by user submission and not being caught. Any Preliminary Artwork that is added by HC, has a set size for either Height or Width (can't recall which or the exact number but I think it is width of 500-something).

  23. Ah, I see the problem. You are using Album view (which I never do). I guess I am going to have to modify my 'how to name a picture file' instructions. The actual Item Number is TPB-10, if you were in Grid View. Having the Album View display TPB (10th) confuses and complicates the instructions. The Picture file needs to be TPB-10.jpg to get displayed.
  24. if the issue number is Ash 3/A, then the picture file should be Ash 3-A.jpg.
  25. Can you supply a screen print. I have never seen any issues (Comic Boo, Book or Magazine) as TPB (10th). If it was a tenth printing, the issue number would be TPB-10.
