I believe the only way is to Export information from one database and Import into the other. I would just select Issues you own. After you Export data, you can edit the file (Notepad works fine) and compare it with the database you are about to import into. This will let you remove lines where they are in both (so you don't get duplicate entries). Also, if you have Books and/or Magazines in addition to Comic Books, you will need to do an Export/Import for each of the Types you have. PS Make sure both databases have be update to the same weekly Update time.

No, you are not missing anything. First, the Custom Check names should change in the Title Information window after you change it. I will mention this to HC and see if this can be fixed. As for using Title information in Advanced Find, there currently is no way to select Title fileds from a drop-down box. There is only Issue fields. However, as an unsupported function, you can use Title fields. (I have updated the Advanced Find manual in 'News & General Discussion' to reflect this) You do this by using the Table name instead of the I (which is for Issue Table). For example, using an Issue field it would look like: I.Notes For a Title field use either ComicTitles, BookTitles, or MagazineTitles, depending on the Type you are searching, like this: ComicTitles.Publisher = 'Marvel' BookTitles.Publisher = 'Ballantine' MagazineTitles.Publisher = 'Time' ComicTitles.[CustomCheck1] IS TRUE BookTitles.[CustomCheck1] IS TRUE MagazineTitles.[CustomCheck1] IS TRUE This is not supported by HC and I haven't tested it on all Title fields. Use menu item Edit->Change Title Media Type Go to the Title to be moved, use Change Media Type and select the destination Type.

I think HC takes the week between Christmas and New Years off so I don't think there will be an update this week.

Use menu item Setup->Grading... Do your grades show up in the list? If not, you can add them.

Can you explain the steps you are taking? I don't print labels but I just tried setting up the report (short of printing). Not sure if you are using Selected Titles or Selected Items. However... If I select Selected Titles, and click Choose... I can pick a title and Issues in that Title. When done, I can select another TItle. If I select Selected Items (which I think you might be doing). I can enter a Title and Add Issues (and more Titles/issues if I want using the '+' button). These are displayed in a Select Item window like the one you included (only with Items). If I want to clear the issues, I just select them all and click the '-' button. Is this what you are trying to do?

It depends on when the covers were replaced. I believe the Update process won't (or at least shouldn't) replace larger covers. However, if you manually select 'Download Cover' it will download what HC has and replace what you have, regardless of size. If you have the 'Automatically download larger pictures' in Preferences checked, I am not sure what will happen. I would hope it wouldn't replace a larger cover with a smaller one but I am not sure.

At a guess, the original entry was probably 'Prince Namor (Namor)'. Changing just the 'Prince Namor' part to 'Prince Namor (Namor)' results in 'Prince Namor (Namor) (Namor)'. There should be a simple fix, Find ' (Namor) (Namor)' to ' (Namor)' NOTE: there is a Space as the first character in the both the Find and Replace text above.

Try this: Open File->File Tools. Select Manage Pictures and Movies. Click on the folder icon next to the path of the Location for Pictures and Movies. You should get a window of Browse for Folder. Just click Cancel You should get a message 'Clearing out stored references to Picture files' If you don't, go back and actually change your picture folder to some other location. This should get you the 'Clearing out...' message. Once you do, go back and change the location to your original picture folder. After this, the Automatic download should work. What is probably happening is your database still has information about the previous larger cover size and is using that to check for downloading covers. Once the Picture information is cleared out, it should find larger files on the HC servers and down load them.

I have the Archive edition (v22.0.0.1422) and I can rename Custom check boxes (in Books and Comic Books) without any problem. (just showing it isn't a problem with all copies of CB). I used Setup->Custom Fields... and once the name was changed, Setup->Columns to View... to see that the name I used showed up in the list.

Rarely, there is one UPC on the outside and a different one on the inside (usually on the on the flap) on some books. Leaving it blank is fine.

For all other Issues, the x/HC is the Direct Market (cover is from an issue of Fantastic Four) and the x/A is the Book Market (cover by a current artist). I have the correct cover scan (by Art Adams) for #4/A in my database. It looks like the Cover Artist, UPC and ISBN information is wrong. I would add yours as 4/A, correct the information and submit it to HC.

No. It is not data corruption. It is just that the solution to this problem is way more complicated then it may seem. Since it only occurs when you are the very last Title and attempt to go further, (the right arrow) is when the problem occurs. It does not happen when you are in the middle of your list or at the first. Just the last Title.

It shouldn't be necessary. It SHOULD show up in the converted database. But it didn't on my computer. Here is my story. I have two computers: my working computer and another just for testing. On the Testing computer, where I have a CB 2022 new database and a converted CB 2021 database (while testing burning man), ItemDescription showed up in Searches and Exports. On my working computer, when I converted the CB 2022 database, it did NOT show up. I then copied that same database to my testing computer and it DID show up (same database with no changes didn't show the columns on working computer but did show up in the testing computer). I created a New Database on my working computer and the column DID show up in searches and exports. It makes no sense. Same computer, same program, different results. Different computer Same program (version/build) and same database, different results. I created a New Database on my working computer and the column did show up in searches and exports. Because I am experienced at this, it was just quicker and easier for me to export my data and import into the new database to get everything working. Really weird and hard to figure out what is going on.

Lance, referring to part of your post, the ItemDescription column is available for use in Search and Exports (I had a problem where it wasn't being listed and had to create another database and copy my info into it. Never figured out why it didn't display).

Try downloading the latest build (1388) and see if that fixes the problem.

If the watermarked cover is the same size as the non-watermarked cover, the process would know about watermarks and just sees the same size cover. If you have a lot of watermarked covers, it may be best to just install the new set of cover from the download file or disks (using either the full-sized or thumbnail 'quick start' files). This would be a one-time process that should get rid or all watermarked covers (with maybe a few random ones that got missed).

Yes. I have done all of those things and still can't download covers.

I did a little testing and there may be some other problem with downloading covers. I sent a message to Pete to ask him about it.

I think part of it is the new Quickstart covers and Auto-download feature. It checks the values in the Picture* f (height/width/size) fields now.
