And now, I am getting the same error you are getting. Not sure what changed. It was working (well, not getting the error), then it started getting the error.

Okay, I followed your steps and didn't get an error. Select an Issue, right-click and select Add to Set... and I get the Sets window. Since I don't have any Sets, I would need to click on the "+ New Set" to create one. Next I created a Set (Menu Items->Sets) and added an Issue to it and saved. Did the steps again (select, right-click, Add to Set) and while I still did not get an error, this didn't work as I would have expected. What happened is the Sets window opens again, sowing the one Set I have. I can go through the process of clicking Select and finding/selecting other Item #( s ) to the set but it does NOT try to add the original Selected Issue to that Set. I would have expected the Selected Item # to be added to an existing Set or (more likely) to just select an existing Set to add it to. So instead of Add to Set actually the Selected Item # to a Set (or letting you choose which Set to add to), it just bring up the Set window and you have to go find the Title/Item # to add. Hope this helps some.

Can you list the steps of what you were doing when you get the error? Also, what version of CB are you using (mine is v20.0.3.3805. If you don't have the newest version, you might try downloading/installing it.

The photos are not in the actual database. They are stored in a separate windows folder. The default location is C:\Users\Public\Documents\Human Computing\Pictures.

You are doing nothing wrong. Each edition of ComicBase comes with a different amount of covers. Each addition has approximately: Archive Edition - 650,000, Professional - 50,000, Express - 5,000, The Free Edition doesn't list the number of covers but I would think it would be 5,000 or (most likely) less than that. You can scan and add your own covers (at least I think you should be able to in the Free version but I have never used it).

Someone who knows the mobile app better than me can correct this if I am wrong, but I believe the Mobile App only displays static report( s ) that you have uploaded to the CB Cloud storage. It is not a working copy of CB.

Click on the View drop-down box (just below the menu line). Then select Items To Show->Owned Items. This will only display Titles with Issues you own and only those Issues you own in those Titles. This Display should stay in place when you close CB and reopen it. If, however, you want only one display with all your owned issues, you will need to do a Find or a Report.

There really isn't much to it currently. Scan at 300 dpi (or less, if you like but over doesn't really do anything). Crop and straighten. Save as .jpg at the least compression (for Photoshop Elements, that would be a 12). That's about it.

CB can do this for you. Go to the Title you want to move. Then use the menu and select Edit->Change Media Type->(type to change to). CB will then do the work of moving the Title/Item #'s to the different media type.

The basics to adding an Item # (Issue) that is not in CB are: Go to the Title you want to add the missing Item # to. Click on the + button (located above the grid on the right side of the window) By default, it will be filled in with the next Item #. You can change this for the Item # that you are adding the variant. For a first Variant, you would normally just need to change the Variation to the next available letter. ex. If there are no variants listed, you could choose Variation A. If there are already Variations A, B, and C, you can choose Variation D. You can change/add other values, as needed. i.e. Cover Price, Cost, Condition, etc.

You are doing nothing wrong. Because CB 2020 starts so much faster, there isn't really much time for anything to play. So the startup music was removed.. If enough people ask, Pete might do something about changing this.

Open Sidekick Click on the Setting icon (looks like a gear in top right-hand corner If not already there, click on the General Tab at the top. Click on the green + button. Navigate to your database. This is normally in C:\Users\<logon-id>\Documents\Human Computing\ComicBase Databases. If not there do a windows search for *.cbdb (the file extension for ComicBase Databases) to find it. Once you have found it, click on it and click the Open button.

Yes. For the most part, individuals need to correct the errors and submit them. It may take awhile for the corrections to be reviewed / updated. Until then, the mistakes will come back with the next update. You can run File->File Tools - Rebuild Lists, Item Information to update the indexes after you have made changes to remove them from searches.

Paul, CB 2020 was a complete rewrite in a different programming language and database system. So it is possible there is some difference between CB 2017 and CB 2020.
