I have recurring issues with Sidekick and error messages, but I have historically been negligent in capturing them. Well, that has changed! I caught one of my nemeses tonight! While Sidekick runs the database update, it likes to tell me that I must update my database by opening ComicBase before Sidekick can use it? It soldiers on through the error message, though, but gets stuck in a never-ending update loop. ComicBase is not currently open as this is running. My computer is running Win 10, and my CB version is 23.2.2.2744.

Installed CB 2020, build 2836 last week on a new computer, running W10 Pro, 64 bit. I can only get CB to run when I set my region to US and then change the date format to US as well. My regular settings are Dutch, meaning DD-MM-YYYY for a date and not MM/DD/YYYY. Because of this CB fails to run, stating that the value is not a valid datetime value. Which is odd, for a datetime value should only be a number that is forrmatted using the regional settings. Please advise what to do. Changing my region / datetime settings each time I want to run CB is of course not an option.

I've had an issue recently where some issues don't make it into my database. I know there's a way to shift click on "Check for Updates" to get it to reload the updates but I can't get it to work. I know it does work on my system because I got remote assistance and the tech did that. Does anyone know if there's some key mapping for something in a mouse set up which would prevent this from working? Thanks, Lee Bennett

I accidently created a new database a while back, and even though I have removed it from the list of databases to use it still shows up online under "My Comics". Is there a way to remove from there? ComicBase Mobile always defaults to this empty database when I open it and it's kind of annoying. It's just a minor inconvenience but it would be nice if I could remove it. Thanks!

I can deal with it, but others should be aware. I don't know how to push this info to them, so I'll post this here... I add new purchases to my collection scanning with CBMobile. I just added my this week purchases. When I used CB to add new purchases, it reported adding more than it should have. It appears that with the recent server hiccups, my scanned additions from last week were activated again. When I scan and add, I add the current date into the Notes field, allowing me to do an Advanced Find to verify everything went in and help me do cover scans. I delete these dates after I am done processing new additions. I can search for "11/2/21" and find the…

So, I'm going through and adding "Box xxx" identifications into Custom Field 2 as I do my yearly Grand Unification, and I've done something multiple times now that is really bad, and I don't know fully what is happening, but want to describe it in case th is some protection that can be added against it. At the moment, I'm identifying issues in a waiting box, so I'm scanning individual issues and pasting "Unread Old 001" in Custom Field 2. Zap a book, click on Custom Field 2, Ctrl-V, focus on Find bar, rinse repeat. The problem occurs if I zap a book and press Ctrl-V without clicking on Custom Field 2. When replacing / overwriting cover scan images in ComicBase, there is a notification window that pops up which compares the two images so that you can visually confirm that it's the same book, as well as compare dimensions and file sizes of the two scans. Previously, the font for the replacement image specs would be green if the replacement image was larger than the existing, or red if it was smaller, which is helpful in quickly determining if my scan is an upgrade from what is in the master database and therefore would be beneficial to submit for the greater good of the CB community. Is there a way to run the reports that pull from all the little sub-categories? I do not want 4 different ones for Comics, Magazines, Books and Newspapers, I'm wanting all 4 in one report. Also, why was this done? It's extremely annoying.

Are there any folks good at finessing reports who can help? I'm looking to create one that will give me a listing of any title I have more than 12 issues of (to help guide me to the best places to put title dividers). I'm still having issues with report names despite using the latest installer (v20.0.1.2764). I just saved a collection report and it is only showing up with the name "1". Any ideas why this is happening? I'd also just like to throw it out there that it would be great if we could have custom names when generating reports instead of the ones hardcoded into the program. Thanks!

When I run the Top Gainers and Losers report for Owned Items, I get the following message. Running ComicBase 2023 Archive Edition, v.23.0.0.2018, with over 18,000 items added so far. The report always worked before, but I've been getting this error for a couple of weeks.

I've gone back and forth with support on this issue quite a bit, to the point where I'm starting to feel like I am harassing them, so I wanted to address the issue here. I've noticed that when I look at my auto-generated report for books, cover images that appeared one week aren't there the next. In particular I have been having a lot of problems with The Destroyer (Pinnacle). Cover images disappeared on one report a while back, so I contacted support and they reappeared on the next report, but now they're gone again. This weekend, I cleaned up my saved information on the site. I renamed by primary database from "Complete Collection 2022" to "Complete Collection 2023" which I didn't think would be a big deal. I deleted my old stuff and went into CB where I thought that I saved my reports to the web. I've saved these more times than I can count and never had a problem beyond it taking up to half an hour for them to become available. I didn't give it a thought when they didn't turn up on the app right away and assumed that they would be there later. Is there a problem with reports right now? I have auto reports turned on but I don't think anything has uploaded since last December. I removed all the reports under My Comics and saved a few reports using the "Save to Web" function but they still haven't shown up. Is there a backlog? Thanks!

i see a lot of talk about SAVING to the cloud and even mentions of restoring from a cloud backup, but nothing on HOW to restore from a cloud backup. i am using a laptop and desktop and would like the convenience of just saving to the cloud and then restoring on the other machine. it really should be an option in the file pull down. super thanks
